FORKS — The city will recognize the members of the Forks Ten and Under (10U) Girls Fastpitch Team on Wednesday, Aug. 21.

At 6 p.m., the team will ride on a firetruck through the city, ending at Tillicum Park, where there will be a picnic for the team and parents.

The public is invited to line Forks Avenue to congratulate the team on its 12-game winning streak that resulted in clenching both the state tournament and the regional 10U softball tournament in Idaho.

The team drove more than 1,500 miles, stayed innumerable nights in hotels and endured high desert temperatures, but through it all enjoyed themselves, had fun, and exhibited tremendous sportsmanship.

A proclamation recognizing the members of the team will be read at the City Council meeting Monday at 7:30 p.m. at Forks City Hall.
