JOYCE — Crescent’s Becca Bowen spiked the final point to complete to give the Loggers a 3-2 victory over Port Townsend on Monday.
Crescent celebrated its hard-fought win by swarming the court and piling on top of Bowen.
Each of the match’s five games were decided by three points or less.
“It was an absolute dogfight from start to finish,” Loggers coach Alex Baker said. “Neither team wanted to lose.
“Both teams kept hitting the ball at each other until somebody was going to fold.
“Fortunately, we outlasted them.”
Baker added that it was the best match Crescent has played all year.
Bowen had seven kills, one assist and was 5 for 7 serving.
Junior setter Devanie Christie was 21 for 22 serving with three aces, 34 assists and one tip.
Bonny Hazelett was 17 for 19 on serves with two aces and seven kills.
Senior Jandi Frantz had six blocks, two tips and 10 kills.
Catherine Youngman went 22 for 24 on serves with three aces and five kills.
With the win, the Loggers avenged last month’s tough 3-0 loss to the Redskins.
Both teams play next on Thursday.
Crescent hosts Neah Bay, and Port Townsend plays at North Kitsap.

Chimacum 1
BOTHELL — The Cowboys only managed to take one game from Cedar Park Christian on Monday.
After losing the first two games 25-18 and 25-22, respectively, Chimacum fought back to dominate the third game 25-13.
But the Eagles put them away with a 25-18 fourth and final game.
For the Cowboys, Lauren Thacker had 10 kills, two blocks and 14 digs.
Olivia Baird had six kills, one block and 15 digs.
Kiersten Snyder had five kills, three blocks and nine digs.
Audrey Thacker blocked four with two kills.
Megan Dukek had 14 assists, four aces and 13 digs, and Sienna Madary contributed three kills.
Chimacum hosts two matches during homecoming week.
They play Eatonville today and face the Eagles again on Thursday.
Riders football at home
The Port Angeles (0-4, 0-6) football team will play North Kitsap at Civic Field on Friday at 7 p.m.
The location of the game was previously listed as being played in Poulsbo.
North Kitsap (3-1, 3-3) is tied with Kingston for second place in the Olympic League. The Vikings are coming off a 48-18 win over North Mason.
