CLALLAM BAY — The Clallam Bay High School boys basketball team isn’t sure just what it will be putting out on the court this season.
The Bruins haven’t been able to practice because of the success of the football team on which all of the returning players from last year’s state basketball playoff run are playing.
Jubilee Christian defeated Clallam Bay 30-6 in the Class B-8 semifinals Saturday, ending the Bruins’ football season. That means that the basketball team can begin practice in earnest this week.
Last weinter, the Bruins finished eighth at the 2003 Class B state basketball tournament
The Bruins will be missing Annan Bowlby and Fidel Angulo this season, but with the rest of the team returning Clallam Bay should have the best chance to reach the top of the league standings.
Clallam Bay finished with an outstanding 21-3 record last year.
Bowlby and Angulo graduated last year.
Other players not returning are senior John Sangel, who left the area, and junior Garrett Hull.
