PORT TOWNSEND — Ninth-ranked Cedar Park Christian was a little too much for youthful Chimacum in Nisqually League football action Saturday night at Memorial Field.
The Bothell school (3-0 overall, 1-0 in league) blasted the Cowboys (1-3, 0-1) 41-13 behind 356 rushing yards and three touchdowns by senior running back Daniel Watts.
The Eagles were ahead 28-0 through three quarters of play before both teams scored 13 points each in the fourth period.
Chimacum scored both touchdowns on Mel Thornton runs, the first for 80 yards and the second for 1 yard.
Alex Morris made one of two point-after kicks.
Thornton rushed for 121 yards on 24 carries as the Cowboys amassed 164 total yards on the ground.
Trevor Hare rushed for 36 yards on 10 carries.
All-around athlete Thornton also threw one pass for 40 yards to Drew Yackulic.
Colton Shaw caught three passes for 43 yards while Thornton had two catches for 20 yards, both from Morris.
Yackulic led the team on defense with 11 tackles, seven solo, and he also had a pass defensed.
Trevon Noel earned 10 tackles, six solo, while Thornton had five tackles with one tackle for a loss.
Seth Ham collected eight tackles while Daryl Settlemire, Gregg Shold and Morris amassed six tackles each.
The Cowboys next play at Life Christian Academy in Tacoma on Friday night.

LANGLEY — The Roughriders went 1-2-2 at the South Whidbey Invitational, placing 10th out of 16 teams Saturday.
Port Angeles went 2-4 in pool play to take third place out of four teams.
The Riders captured their first bracket-play match to Shoreline Christian after coming back from behind 8-21 in the first set to win it 25-23.
In pool play, the Riders split with Cascade Christian, 17-25, 25-20; lost to Meadowdale 9-25, 9-25; split with Aberdeen 25-21, 23-25; beat Shoreline Christian 25-23, 25-16; and lost to Nooksack Valley 20-25, 23-25.
Bailee Jones led Port Angeles at the net with 18 kills and five blocks. She also served two aces in the tournament.
Holli Williams had a killer tourney serving with 17 aces. She missed only one serve in 59 tries and also had 69 assists and 24 digs.
Sarah Steinman, meanwhile, had a standout all-round tourney with 16 kills, 27 digs, three blocks and five aces (serving 32 of 34); and Alyssa Wetzler had a team-high 43 digs.
Madison Hinrichs wasn’t far behind Wetzler on defense with 34 digs, and she also had 10 kills, two blocks and two aces (serving 19 of 20).
Brittany Norberg added 13 kills, three blocks, six digs and three aces.
Port Angeles next will play at Olympic in Silverdale to start Olympic League play Tuesday.
The Riders open league action with a record of 3-6-2 (nonleague with tournaments).

SEATTLE — Kyle Tupper won an individual championship as the Roughrider boys and girls teams finished in the top four at the 20-team King’s Roller Coaster Trail Run on Saturday.
The Port Angeles girls team claimed third, led by Lizzy Stevenson’s ninth-lace finish.
On the boys side, Port Angeles placed fourth, led by Tupper’s individual title.
For the Port Angeles girls, Stevenson was ninth in 20:40; followed by Jolene Millsap, 21st in 21:57; Annika Pederson, 22nd in 22:03; Willow Suess, 28th in 22:20; Taylor Jones, 30th in 22:21; and Dasha Porter, 39th in 23:03.
In the boys race, Tupper blew away the field with first place in 16:22; followed by Peter Butler, 18th in 17:48; Evan Herbert, 31st in 18:07; Simon Shindler, 32nd in 18:09; Tony Dalgardno, 38th in 18:32; Josh Basden, 62nd in 19:44; and Hunter Dempsey, 67th in 20:20.
