CHIMACUM — The youthful Chimacum Cowboys are looking to peak at the state Class 2A fastpitch championships in Wenatchee starting Friday.
Chimacum, the district runner-up, will take on Connell at 11 a.m. on Field 2 at Walla Walla Point Park in the double-elimination tournament.
The winner plays in the quarterfinals at 3 p.m. on Field 3 against the winner between Pullman and Ridgefield. Losers of the two games play in the consolation bracket at 1 p.m. on Field 2.
The Cowboys enter state with a 13-9 record after going 11-7 in the Nisqually League with just two seniors and three juniors.
