EVERETT — The Chimacum baseball team is still on track for an undefeated regular season after shutting out Cascade Christian 4-0 and winning the Nisqually League title Monday.
Quinn Eldridge threw a five-hit complete-game shutout, striking out 12 and walking none to remain perfect on the year.
The Cowboys improved to 10-0 in league and 13-0 overall with one home game left against the same Cascade Christian team.
That contest was rained out Tuesday and has been rescheduled for Friday at Chimacum High School.
Friday’s game is important for area fans because it will be the final regular-season game for the seniors, who are now 71-9 in their four-year career with one state championship, and second-place and third-place state trophies in their first three years.
The four-year varsity seniors are Landon Cray — a three-time Nisqually League MVP and all-state player — Eldridge and catcher Austin McConnell.
The Cowboys didn’t play their best Monday, managing only eight hits while committing four errors against the Cougars.
Cray went 3 for 4, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while Mike Nordberg had a double and an RBI in the game.

SILVERDALE — The Trojans stayed in the running for second or third place in the Olympic League with the victory over the Redskins on Monday.
The game, a home contest for Port Townsend, was moved to Silverdale because of rain in Jefferson County, but the Redskins remained the home team.
Olympic improved to 9-6 and is tied with Sequim for third place. Bremerton is a half-game behind at 8-6.
Port Angeles sits in second at 10-5 and had its Monday game with Sequim for second place rained out.
The two teams had rescheduled for Tuesday but that looked bleak when it started raining hard in early afternoon.
The Roughriders still have hope for a tie for first place after league-leading North Kitsap (11-4) lost 8-4 to Kingston on Monday.
The Vikings were set to close out the season Tuesday against Olympic. If North Kitsap loses that game and the Riders beat the Wolves, the two teams will tie for first place.
The youthful Redskins (2-13, 3-15), meanwhile, lost another close league game when they fell to Olympic on Monday.
The Trojans scored all the runs they needed in the top of the first with five.
Olympic ended up with 10 hits and one error while the Redskins had seven hits and no mistakes.
Devon Courtney and Daniel Charlton both hit doubles with an RBI each for Port Townsend.
Courtney also scored a run.
