Youth soccer academies start soon

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles Youth Soccer and Peninsula College are teaming up for the spring youth soccer season.

Registration is open now but closing soon for the Peninsula Soccer Academy for boys and girls in U8-U16.

The academy begins the week of Monday, April 13th, and will be held outdoors at Wally Sigmar Field at Peninsula College.

An indoor soccer academy for U6-U7 boys and girls will be held at the Peninsula College gym.

There are two indoor sessions to choose from with both starting in mid-April.

Swim club programs

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Swim Club is starting their spring/summer swimming programs.

Swimmers of all ages can try out for two different groups to help train them for competitive swimming.

Club Ready is for swimmers that would like to join a club but need a little more work on their stroke, technique and/or endurance.

Fitness Swimming is for swimmers that would like the accountability of a coach-run work out to keep them ready for competition

Swim club holds raffle

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Swim Club is holding a spring raffle fundraiser.

Each ticket is $5, and gives buyers a chance at one of eight prizes.

The prizes are a basket of kitchen goodies valued at more than $100 from Sandy’s Kitchen; an hour-long scenic flight from Rite Bros. Aviation; memberships from Fitness West and Storm King CrossFit; a cord of wood from both Bruch and Bruch Construction and PA Firewood; a shopping in Port Angeles prize valued at $180; a Taste of Port Angeles prize worth more than $250; and a photo session from Olympics Photography.

The Port Angeles Swim Club is a nonprofit youth organization serving Port Angeles, Joyce and Sequim.

Swimmers will be at area businesses for the next three weekends raising money to help offset operating costs.
