SPORTS BRIEFS: Windermere moves into first-place tie in soccer league

PORT ANGELES — Pura Vida, Windermere and the Bandidos FC were the winners Sunday in the Peninsula Soccer League with Windermere moving into a tie for first place.

The Bandidos won 3-2 over Pantry & Latch, Pura Vida won 4-3 over Strait Slice and Windermere won 3-0 over Higher Energy Metals. Salazar Painting also had a draw with Forks FC at 2-2.

Raul Medina and Sabrina Wilk scored for Salazar Painting. Scoring for Forks FC was Hugo Sandoval Jr. and Sam Watson, with an assist for Sandoval.

Bandidos got goals from Chris Lopes, Jay Sanders and CJ Daniels, while Casy Strawn and Spencer Stuhldreher scored for Pantry and Latch.

Edgar Aceves scored a pair of goals for Pura Vida, while Boerto Lara and Juan Gonzales also scored. Javier Gomez had a pair of assists. Dallas Taylor, Ben Stanley and Katie Kierczynska scored for Strait Slice.

Windermere’s Ben Schneider and Gabe Long both scored.

After this week, Windermere and Salazar are tied for first place at 3-0-1 (10 points each). Forks FC is third at 2-1-1 (7 points) and there is a three-way tie for fourth between High Energy, Pura Vida and Bandidos (2-2-0, 6 points each).
