The Storm King Girls U13 team won the championship in the U13 division at the 2018 Island Cup soccer tournament held in Bainbridge Island from Friday through Sunday. SPORTS BRIEFS: U13 team wins Bainbridge tournament; Preregister for state BMX finals at Lincoln Park

Lincoln Park to host state BMX finals

PORT ANGELES — Preregistration is now open for the Washington State BMX Finals which will be held Sept. 7-9 at the Lincoln Park BMX track in Port Angeles.

Pre-registration will close at 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 4. For the Friday, Sept. 7 single point races, the cost is $10 per rider. Signups will also be taken from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on that day.

For the Saturday, Sept. 8 double point races, the entry fee is $25 and $15 for practice. Signups and practices will take place at track from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. Registration for the triple point state finals to be held Sunday will end on Saturday. There will be no signups taken on Sunday for the finals.

The cost for the finals on Sunday, Sept. 9 is $35 per rider. The races begin at 9 a.m. with a flag lap at 8:50 a.m.

Coed softball winners

PORT ANGELES — Teams from Victoria, B.C. took gold in the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Senior Coed Softball Tournament

Tuggers from Victoria won the Competitive Division, while Shaker ‘91 also from across the Strait won the Recreational Division.

Winning silver in the Competitive Division was Been There, Done That from Gig Harbor, while Shirley’s Cafe from Port Angeles took bronze and Gino’s Bistro of Maple Valley came in fourth.

In the Recreational Division, Old & Slow from Cinngon won silver, while Dent Pros from Edgewood from bronze and Xonx Design of Kent came in fourth.

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles Football Boosters now has available a Roughriders blanket and Roughriders women’s fan jersey.

The 50-inch by 60-inch dark gree Roughriders’ blanket is $20, while the women’s fan jersey begins at $20 for extra small, with additional costs for adding numbers to the jersey.
