Tour de Dungeness coming up
SEQUIM — The 18th annual Tour de Dungeness bike race will take place Saturday, March 7, and Saturday, March 14.
Riders in different categories will compete on a 12-mile course that includes Lotzgesell, Cays, East Anderson, Sequim Dungeness Way, Woodcock and Kitchen-Dick roads.
As many as 400-450 riders are expected to participate, including many from across the Puget Sound region and Eastern Washington.
Races start at 9:45 a.m. each day and run until late afternoon. The races will be held rain or shine.

Recruiting talk
PORT ANGELES — Former high school and college coach and athletic director Jack Renkens will present “The True Facts about College Athletic Recruiting” at the Port Angeles High School auditorium Monday at 7 p.m. .
The talk is free and open to the public. Athletes and parents from other area schools also are invited to attend.
Renkens has helped families around the country find college athletic scholarships for their children.
Renkens will discuss myths and truths surrounding the process and offer helpful advice during a 50-minute presentation.

Peninsula Soccer Academy match
PORT ANGELES — The Peninsula Soccer Academy girls U18 soccer team will defend its second-place position against Northshore Impulse Select on Saturday at noon at Peninsula College.
The Peninsula Soccer Academy team is comprised from players from Port Angeles and Sequim high schools.
Admission to Saturday’s game is free.
Gymnasts hit mat
BELLEVUE — Twenty-one members of the Klahhane Gymnastics program competed recently at the Battle in Bellevue at the Meydebauer Center in Bellevue.
In the Xcel Silver Division, Maizie Tucker earned silver medals on the balance beam, floor exercise and all-around in the Senior A age group.
Summer Jules-Stranberg placed second on the balance beam in the Senior B age group, while Julieanne Jacobs finished fourth in the floor exercise.
In the Gold Division, Aiesha Mathis came in fourth on vault in Junior C competition, and Cassidy Tamburro earned a pair of fourth-place finishes on the balance beam and floor exercise in the Senior B age group.
Kianna Miller placed fourth in the vault and on the uneven bars (8.7) in the Platinum Division Junior B age group.
In the Junior Olympic Level 4 Competition, in the Junior B age group, Susannah Sharp was fifth with an All-Around score of 34.05 and two individual event fifth-places on vault (8.6) and uneven bars (8.8).
Jolene Vaara placed third on vault (8.7) and sixth in the all-around (33.65).
In the Junior D age group, Kori Miller place second on vault (8.85) and sixth in all-around (34.05), while Morgan Mattix placed fourth on vault (8.6) and seventh in the all-around (33.30).
Lainy Vig placed third on the uneven bars (8.775) in the Senior A age group.
Gracie Sharp was sixth on balance beam (8.85) and seventh on vault (8.4) in the Level 6 Junior B age group.
Klahhane Gymnasts compete next in the At the Hop meet in Sumner this Saturday and Sunday, and the Rainier Cup in Sea-Tac on March 14-15.
