SPORTS BRIEFS: Snow Sports registration set for Dec. 3

PORT TOWNSEND — The Kiwanis Club of Port Townsend is again sponsoring its Snow Sports program this year, returning to Stevens Pass beginning Jan. 7, 2017, for the first of six trips to the ski area.

Contact Stevens Pass directly for lift ticket prices. The transportation cost is $130.

The first 50 people who sign up — seventh grade through adult — may register from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3 at the Rec Center, downstairs in the Port Townsend Community Center at 620 Tyler (corner of Tyler and Clay streets).

Sixth-grade participants and younger must be accompanised by a paid adult or guardian on all trips.

1A soccer All-League named

Four members of the Port Townsend and Chimacum girls’ soccer squads were named to the Olympic 1A Division All-League first team.

Making the All-League team were Kaitlyn Meek and Jasmin Apker Montoya of Port Townsend and Grace Johnson and Samantha Raines of Chimacum.

The Chimacum team was also awarded the league sportsmanship honor.

Emily Peters of Klahowya and Mia Littlejohn of Coupeville were the co-MVPs of the 1A Division.

Coach of the Year was Troy Oelschlager of Klahowya.
