Port Angeles BMX track opens this weekend

PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles BMX Track begins its season this Saturday and Sunday.

Saturday’s activities include a work party from 9:30 a.m. to

12:30 p.m., a free new rider clinic 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., $20 open BMX clinic from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and a $5 open practice 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

The clinic fee covers practice fees.

Port Angeles BMX is offering race deals for two weeks only: $50 yearly practice fee and $80 for ten single-point races. Membership is not included in these prices.

On Sunday, sign-ups are from noon to 1 p.m., followed immediately by racing.

Free strider racing comes with membership.

Bikemaster team Trailor will be in house to help riders with their part and bike needs or wants.

Adult slowpitch softball

PORT ANGELES — Sign-ups are still underway for players without a teams in the Port Angeles Parks and Recreation Department’s men’s and women’s slowpitch softball leagues.

Players without teams can call and get on a free agent list.

Sign-up forms are available at the Parks and Recreation office at 308 E. Fourth St..

Play begins Monday, April 27.
