SPORTS BRIEFS: Icy roads force prep sports postponements

PORT ANGELES — Several Tuesday night prep sports events were postponed because of icy road conditions.

A wrestling meet between North Kitsap and Port Angeles in Port Angeles was postponed, as well as boys’ and girls’ basketball games in Joyce between Crescent and Quilcene. A junior varsity basketball game between Port Angeles and Forks was also postponed.

Boys and girls’ basketball games in Forks between the Spartans and Lake Quinault last night were still scheduled to be played as Lake Quinault comes from a different route than Port Angeles.

A number of local sporting events are scheduled for tonight. Port Angeles Athletic Director Dwayne Johnson said the Wedneday night games“are on go status” at this time, and he will make the final call on those games at noon today.

The Port Angeles basketball boys are scheduled to travel to North Mason tonight and the girls team is scheduled to host North Mason at 7 p.m.
