Playoff qualifiers

PORT ANGELES — The Adrenaline U13 girls soccer team qualified for the playoffs after ending the regular season with a 6-3-1 record, good for third place in the North Sound Youth Soccer Association which includes Clallam, Kitsap, Jefferson and Mason counties.

Adrenaline recently faced the Tracyton Hurricanes in its last regular season game.

The girls immediately got on the board with a goal from Ella Holland.

Holland went on to score another goal and was joined on the scoreboard by Emma Albright, Anna Gentry, Delaney Wenzl, Kiana Watson-Charles, Jada Cargo and Madison Dunning.

Goalkeepers Mackenzie Ferrell and Madilyn Roening earned the shutout for Adrenaline in a 9-0 win.

The team opened the Washington State Recreational Cup with a 3-2 loss against the undefeated Bremerton Blue Bombers.

After the first half Adrenaline was down 2-1 with the only goal scored by a right cross by Wenzl.

In the second half, Adrenaline dominated Bremerton’s side of the field. Albright was able to kick in the equalizer.

The Bombers got a breakaway and were able to score making it a 3-2 game.

In the final minutes, Adrenaline’s Gaby Charles, Kyrsten McGuffey and Grace Baillargeon took several shots on goal but couldn’t make it into the net and Bremerton resorted to stalling to run time off the clock.

“Although the final outcome wasn’t what we desired, the girls gave their all on the field,” Adrenaline coach Nick Heaton said.
