BREMERTON – The Bremerton girls basketball team pulled away in the third quarter to drop Port Townsend 52-38 in Olympic League play Friday.
The Knights (6-9 in league, 8-11 overall) pulled away in the third quarter, dashing the Redskins’ chances of improving their playoff seeding in the Class 1A Tri-District.
After leading by only four points at halftime, Bremerton jumped to a 16-point lead and never looked back.
Kourtney Carpenter led the Knights with 19 points.
“We played really well defensively. Our shots just didn’t drop,” Redskin coach Randy Maag said.
Kerri Evalt had 13 points for the Redskins while Bella Fox dropped in 10.
Port Townsend (7-9, 10-10) will host either Chimacum or Charles Wright on Thursday in a loser-out pigtail playoff for the West Central District’s No. 5 seed in the 1A Tri-District.

CLALLAM BAY– The Red Devils (6-0, 18-1) finished regular season play with a dominate win against the Bruins (3-3, 12-6) on Friday night.
Four players scored in double digits for Neah Bay, catapulting it its 22nd straight North Olympic League win.
Rebecca Thompson led the offensive charge with a game-high 18 points and seven rebounds. Synon Allen, Cherish Moss, and Merissa Murner combined to score 46 points for the Red Devils.
The Bruins were led by Jazzmin Randall and Jaime Parker, who scored 15 points and eight points respectively.

SEQUIM – The Wolves (7-8, 10-10) fell at home to the second-place Buccaneers (13-2,16-3) in Olympic League play Friday night.
The Buccaneers led the entire game thanks to an 11-point first quarter by former Sequim standout Alex-Rose Albert, who finished with a game-high 14.
Rylleigh Zbarascuk was Sequim’s high scorer, sinking 17 points.
Sequim travels to Port Angeles on Tuesday with the 2A Olympic No. 4 seed already wrapped up.

TACOMA — The Cowboys (4-6, 6-12) inched closer to a postseason berth with a drubbing of Nisqually League doormat Life Christian on Friday night.
Mallory Cossell drained four 3-pointers on her way to a game-high 20 points and Lauren Thacker added nine points and 11 rebounds as Chimacum moved within a win or Orting loss of earning a playoff bid.
The Cowboys turned the ball over just 12 times while also getting 12 points from Kaylie Castillo and 11 from Cydney Nelson.
The Cowboys head to Orting on Monday before closing out the regular season the next night at home against Vashon Island.
An item in Friday’s PDN incorrectly stated the Cowboys would earn a playoff bid with a win over Life Christian.

QUILCENE — The Rangers (8-6, 11-8) clinched their first winning season in six years with a narrow 1B Sea-Tac League victory Friday night.
Quilcene, which already wrapped up a playoff spot prior to Friday’s game, rallied from a six-point fourth-quarter deficit to earn the win.
Leanne Weed scored a game-high 18 points for the Rangers, while Tawyna Turley added nine.
“We are very proud of our girls,” Rangers coach Joe Whitsett said. “They are a determined group.”
The Rangers will host Clallam Bay in a loser-out pigtail playoff Thursday night.
