SPORTS: Annual baseball and softball all-star games slated Monday

BREMERTON — Top area high school senior baseball and best overall softball players compete at the annual all-star games today at different sites in Bremerton.

Port Angeles, Sequim and Chimacum will be represented in the baseball contest while Sequim, Port Angeles and Port Townsend players were selected for the softball game.

The Senior All-Star Baseball game will be a nine-inning affair at Gene Lobe Fields at the Kitsap County Fairgrounds and Events Center, starting at 5 p.m.

The 10th annual KAR Softball Showcase will feature two five-inning games at Pendergast Regional Park. It also starts at 5 p.m.

The softball contest is not limited to seniors.

Admission to both events is $5 for adults, $3 for students with ASB cards and free for children 12 and younger.

Area baseball players selected are, for the Americans, pitcher/shortstop/second baseman Cole Uvila and pitcher/shortstop/first baseman Easton Napiontek of Port Angeles.

For the Nationals, are catcher Tyler Campbell, pitcher/shortstop KarstenWake, and pitcher/shortstop Jake Hudson of Sequim; and pitcher/first baseman Landon Cray, infielder Egan Cornachione, pitcher/shortstop Quinn Eldridge, first baseman/outfielder Lucas Dukek and catcher/first baseman/outfielder/pitcher Austin McConnell, all of Chimacum.

Softball players picked for the Americans all-star team are catcher/shortstop Hannah Wahto, outfielder Meleny Fors and shortstop Mariah Frazier of Port Angeles.

For the Nationals team are pitcher/first baseman Demiree Briones, center fielder Rylleigh Zbaraschuk and catcher/third baseman Bailey Rhodefer of Sequim, and shortstop Gen Polizzi and third baseman Megan Lee of Port Townsend.
