BAINBRIDGE — The Port Angeles softball team bounced back to win big after sustaining its first league loss of the year, crushing Bainbridge 12-2 on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Sequim softball team lost to Kingston on Saturday and Forks got seven RBIs from Lizzy Soto in beating Raymond-South Bend 20-9 on Friday.
In the Roughriders’ game, Heidi Leitz and Kennedy Rognlien led the way. Leitz belted a two-run home run and had three RBIs total while Rognlien was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a triple and two RBI. Abby Kimble was also 3-for-3 with a double and two RBI.
Ali Money had a hit and two RBIs and Lynzee Reid was 2-for-4.
In the circle, Leitz and Reid bounced back to allow just five hits and one walk after struggling against North Kitsap on Thursday. Leitz pitched four innings, allowing two hits and one walk while striking out eight. She allowed one run. Reid went two innings, allowing three hits and a run and no walks. She struck out two.
The victory keeps the Roughriders tied with North Kitsap for first place in the Olympic League.
Port Angeles (10-1, 14-2) next plays at a good Kingston team (7-5, 10-5) at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday. The Riders had a close 4-1 win over Kingston earlier this season.

SEQUIM — The Sequim softball team found itself in a wild, back-and-forth high-scoring affair against Kingston on Saturday, as three Buccaneer runs in the top of the seventh were the difference in a 10-9 loss.
The game featured 23 total hits. Taylee Rome had another big day for the Wolves, going 3-for-4 with a double, a stolen base and three RBIs. She raised her already sterling season batting average to .651.
Leila Sanderson was 2-for-2 with a double, a run scored and two RBIs, while Mia Kirner hit a double and had an RBI. Hannah Giddings and Rylin Whitehead each hit 2-for-3 with two runs scored. Whitehead had an RBI.
Sequim also lost 7-1 to first-place North Kitsap, though the Wolves kept the game close until the sixth inning. Rome, Ava Ritter and Whitehead all had hits in that game. Pitcher Navaeh Owens kept the powerful North Kitsap squad to four runs until the sixth inning. She completed the game, allowing six earned runs while striking out two.
Sequim (1-11, 2-11) next hosts Olympic (8-3, 13-3) at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday.

RAYMOND — The Pacific 2B League-leading Forks softball team for a home run and seven RBIs from Lizzy Soto in crushing Raymond-South Bend 20-9.
Forks entered the fourth inning behind 5-4, but erupted for seven runs in the top of the inning to take charge of the game.
Soto finished 3-for-5 with a home run, triple, three runs scored and seven RBIs. Chloe Gaydeski and Fynle Peters also had big days.
Gaydeski hit 4-for-5 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Peters was 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, two runs scored and three RBIs.
Bailey Johnson stole three bases and Keira Johnson was 2-for-5 with a double, two runs scored and an RBI. Avery Dilley also hit a double with two RBIs.
In the circle, Gaydeski pitched the entire seven innings, allowing eight hits and just one earned run as Forks allowed eight unearned runs on errors. She struck out 10.
Forks (9-0, 14-3) is now ranked No. 5 among 2B schools in softball. The Spartans will have a tough game this next week, playing a road game against an old Evergreen 1A foe in Montesano. Montesano is 13-3 overall and ranked No. 2 among 1A teams.
