SATURDAY PREP FOOTBALL ROUNDUP: Quilcene starts slow but routs Crescent

EDITOR’S NOTE: Updated to correct the number of touchdowns scored by A.J. Prater.

JOYCE — It took Quilcene more than a quarter to score, but once points went on the board the Rangers didn’t slow down in a 50-8 victory against Crescent on Saturday.

A.J. Prater returned from illness and rushed 15 times for 226 yards and two touchdowns to power the Quilcene rushing attack.

Eli Harrison tossed touchdown passes of 20 and 40 yards before halftime, and the Rangers led 22-0 at the break.

Harrison also intercepted two passes for Quilcene.

Crescent was able to move the ball between the 20-yard line markers in each half but couldn’t find the end zone.

The Loggers scored their touchdown on a 65-yard kick return from lineman Wyatt McNeece to snap the shutout.

Quilcene (3-0) visits Rainier Christian next Friday.

Crescent (2-2) hosts Tulalip Heritage next Saturday.

No game for Clallam Bay

The Bruins were scheduled to play Muckleshoot at home Saturday afternoon, but the Kings canceled the game due to a lack of players.
