The 7th annual Port Angeles Hall of Fame induction ceremony was held Saturday night on the grass at Civic Field. More than 350 people attended the event held under a tent. Nine individuals were inducted as well as three teams — the 1977 girls basketball, 1972 football, and 1952 boys basketball teams. The nine individuals were Bob Blackburn, track; Mike Chamerlin, swimming; Gus Kravas, basketball; Steve Johansen, basketball; Jodie Jones, softball; Bob Lovell, football; Adam Macomber, football; Bob Spencer, swimming; and Susan Wilson Childers, badminton. Jodie Jones, softball pitcher from the Port Angeles class of 2003, speaks about her accomplishments at Port Angeles and beyond. She was most thankful for her dad, Jim Jones, who passed away in February. A special moment of memoriam was made for Jim Jones, who had been the Port Angeles School District executive director and was later a Clallam County administrator as well as a past co-chairman of the Hall of Fame event.
