PORT TOWNSEND — The Fraser family of Port Townsend dominated the 44th annual Jefferson Healthcare Rhody Run 10K this weekend as more than 900 runners participated in the annual event.
Seamus Fraser, 22, won the men’s 10K for the fourth straight year with his best time yet of 33 minutes, 24.3 seconds. Winning the women’s race was his 18-year-old sister Fiona Fraser, who finished in a time of 37:02.88, which was fourth-best overall.
Ian Fraser, 51, was sixth overall with a time of 37:39.38, while Alice Fraser, 46, had the fourth-best women’s time at 42:56.7. All four Fraser family members finished in the top 20 overall.
The second-place 10K runner was Ryan Clarke of Port Townsend in a time of 33:48.41. Clark and Seamus Fraser were the only two runners to crack 36 minutes as they dominated the race. Levi Nichols of Snohomish was third in a time of 36:31.56.
The second-place women’s runner was Holly McIlvaine of Port Townsend with a time of 42:04.84 and third place for the women was Port Angeles’ Leia Larson (42:25.16).
The 5K winner was Theodore Franzen of Seattle in a time of 18:57.67, winning the event by more than a minute. Second place was Jeff Fisher of Hood River, Ore., in a time of 20:15.68, and third was Rafton Monica of Snohomish in a time of 21:03.39.
The top women’s runner was Angela Dunham (no city listed) in a time of 23:22.3. Isamer Hansen of Tacoma was second with a time of 24:15.45 and Hannah Breckel of Port Townsend third in 24:46.12.
More than 450 runners between the ages of 6 and 87 finished both the 5K and the 10K.
