PREPS: Forks’ Keira Johnson, Elizabeth Soto make first-team all-league softball team

Rogers a first-teamer on baseball squad

FORKS — Seven Forks Spartans softball players earned all-league honors as voted on by Class 2B Pacific League coaches and released this week.

Junior center fielder Keira Johnson and junior third baseman Elizabeth Soto were selected first-team all-league for Forks.

Freshman pitcher Chloe Gaydeski was a second-team pick, along with senior catcher Kyra Neel and senior shortstop Kadie Wood.

Eighth-grader Bailey Johnson earned an honorable-mention nod for her play at second base as well as junior first baseman Kaidence Rigby.

Forks’ all-academic team members are Gaydeski, Haven Hoffman, Keira Johnson, Neel and Kadie Wood.

Ocosta pitcher Jessie Gilbert earned Pacific League MVP honors after a stellar season.

All-league baseball

FORKS — Five Forks Spartans baseball players earned Pacific League all-league honors in voting conducted by league coaches.

Junior pitcher/infielder Gunner Rogers was a first-team selection.

Rogers was 3-4 with a 3.28 ERA in 38.1 innings on the mound and batted .340 with five doubles and 12 RBIs.

Second-team all-league picks for the Spartans were junior Aidan Salazar, sophomore Dylan Micheau and freshman Landen Olson.

Salazar hit .367 with two doubles, a triple and 21 RBIs and was 3-2 with a 5.19 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched.

Micheau batted .315 with five doubles, a triple, a home run and 12 RBIs.

Landen Olson hit .314 with five doubles, a triple and 16 RBIs.

Eighth-grade catcher/utility player Emmanuel Hernandez-Stansbury was an honorable-mention pick for the Spartans.

Making the all-academic team for the Spartans were Isaiah Meyer, Olson, Ryan Rancourt, Rogers and Gage Romberg.

Ilwaco’s Boston Caron was voted league MVP.

Dominguez honored

FORKS — Forks senior soccer player Arturo Dominguez earned honorable mention honors in all-league voting conducted by Class 1A Evergreen League coaches.

Dominguez was the lone Spartan honored.

Montesano senior Mateo Sanchez was voted league MVP.
