GRANGER — Hayden Baker of Forks won his 170-pound weight division at the Tony Saldivar Granger Wrestling Invitational this weekend, helping to lead his team to a third-place finish.
Forks finished third out of 19 schools with 127 points as several Spartans placed in the top six in their weight divisions. Granger (233.5 points) won the home meet, while Zillah (192 points), finished second.
Baker won four matches on the day and won his championship match 9-0 over Paul Jones of Kittitas.
Also making it to the championship match was Hayden Queen of Forks. Queen won three matches on the day and finished second in the 182-pound weight division after being beaten 7-0 in the championship bout by Sammy DesRoches of Riverside.
Ariel Morales finished third at 132 pounds, going 3-1 on the day and beating his teammate Jake Weakley in the third-place match. Weakley, who had to forfeit his final match, finished fourth after going 2-2 on the day.
Other Forks wrestlers who placed include:

Conner Demorest (3-2), sixth, 106 pounds.
Ricky Barragan (3-2), sixth, 160 pounds.
Forks next wrestles Friday at the Hammerhead Invitational in Bremerton.
Boys basketball Friday night game Sequim 62, North Mason 56
BELFAIR — Sequim’s Erik Christiansen hit five 3-pointers and scored 29 points as the Wolves remained perfect in league with a 62-56 overtime win over North Mason.
Christiansen shot 11 for 18 from the floor and 5 for 11 from beyond the arc. Isaiah Moore added 17 points on 6 for 11 shooting and 11 rebounds for the Wolves. Hayden Eaton had eight points and eight rebounds and was one of four Wolves who played over 30 minutes in the game.
Sequim is off to a 5-1 start on the season and is 2-0 in league. The Wolves next play at home at 7 p.m. Tuesday against Bremerton (1-1, 4-2).
