PORT TOWNSEND — Port Townsend picked up eight first-place finishes in a home track meet with North Kitsap and Klahowya.
The Redhawks’ Aubry Botkin and Eileen Leoso each had two first-place finishes in Friday’s meet. Botkin won the 100-meter hurdles in 15.89 seconds and the triple jump with a distance of 31 feet, 5 inches.
It’s was Botkin’s fourth win of the year already in the 100 hurdles, which she finished second in last year at the state 1A meet.
Leoso won the javelin with a personal-record throw of 110-2 and took first in the shot put with a distance of 31-9 1/2.
The Redhawks’ Dylan Tracer also won the 300-meter hurdles with a personal-record time of 43.43 and Anika Avelina won the 400-meter run with a personal-record 1:04.20.
Nathan Cantrell finished first in the 800-meter run with a personal-record time of 2:10.47. Cantrell was also part of a first-place 4×400 relay team (along the Luke Absher, Joseph Molotsky and Seamus Fraser) with a time of 3:56.89.
PA at Bremerton
BREMERTON — Gracie Long won three individual events and was part of the winning 4×400 relay team as the Port Angeles girls track and field team rolled to a dual meet victory over host Olympic, Kingston and Coupeville on Thursday at Silverdale Stadium.
The Roughriders outpointed Olympic 78.5 to 71.5, Kingston 116-33 and Coupeville 99-51.
Long claimed the 800 meters with a time of 2 minutes, 26.72 seconds, the 3,200 in a season-best 11:43.45 and the high jump with a mark of 4 feet, 10 inches.
In the 4×400 relay, Long teamed with Maddie Dougherty, Kynzie DeLeon and Lauren Larson to finish first in 4:29.42.
Dougherty, a senior, set a personal-record time of 5:25.74 to win the 1,600, which is second-fastest in the district behind Long.
Other winners for the Roughrider girls were: Devin Edwards with a distance of 30-7 1/2 in the shot put and Millie Long with a time of 48.86 in the 300 hurdles.
Larson’s second-place time of 12:02.07 in the 3,200 meters was a personal best and the second-fastest in the district. In fact, the Port Angeles girls dominated the 3,200, taking five of the top six spots in the race. DeLeon took third, while Allisandra Baccus took fifth and Ellie Hiigel sixth.

BREMERTON — Four Roughriders won individual events as Port Angeles went 1-2 in Thursday’s meet.
Port Angeles beat Kingston 85-60, but lost to Olympic 81-60 and Coupeville 71-68.
Sophomore Thomas Shaw won the 3,200 in 11:17.71 for the Riders, Dante Light claimed the discus with a throw of 111-11, Tyler Messinger cleared 10 feet to win the pole vault and Liam Clark won the long jump with a leap of 18-08.5.
