JOYCE — The Crescent boys and Clallam Bay girls took home team track and field championships at the North Olympic League meet at Crescent High School.
Paul Frantz, Martin Waldrip, Jordan Scott and Neil Peppard each won two events for the Loggers, as they posted 72 team points.
The Neah Bay boys were second with 58 and Clallam Bay posted 31 points.
Frantz earned a win in the 400-meter run with at time of 53.2 seconds and claimed the 800 with a time of 2:15.13.
Waldrip edged Frantz for the 1,600 crown by 24-hundredths of a second, winning with a time of 5:01.06.
He also won the 3,200 with a 11:28.81.
Scott won both the 110- and 300-meter hurdles for Crescent with times of 18.54 and 46.05 seconds, respectively.
Frantz and Scott teamed with Zach Fletcher and Jacob Baillargeon to win the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 4:06.07.
Peppard picked up convincing throwing event wins, claiming the discus with a throw of 108-06 and the javelin with a 134-03.
The Red Devils were led by Cameron Buzzell’s wins in the 100 and 200 dashes.
Buzzell edged teammate Cole Svec in each event, running the 100 in 11.89 and the 200 in 24.48.
The pair teamed with Chris Martinez and Elisha Winck to take the 4×100 relay in 46.23 seconds.
Winck won the triple jump for Neah Bay, recording a leap of 38-11.5.
Clallam Bay eighth-grader Clayton Willis led the Bruins with two wins.
He out-leaped Winck by 5 inches for the long jump title, posting a distance of 18-06, and topped Svec by 2 inches in the high jump with a leap of 5-06.
Willis also finished second in the 400 and third in the 100.
Girls results
The Bruins rolled to 92 team points, easily outpacing Crescent (46) and Neah Bay (27), two win their second consecutive North Olympic League title.
Clallam Bay picked up multiple-event wins from freshman Kaylin Signor, sophomore Molly McCoy and senior Marissa May.
Signor dominated the long-distance runs, taking the 800 with a time of 2:59.79, the 1,600 in 6:46.31 and posting a 14:05.02 in the 3,200.
McCoy won the long jump by 9 inches over teammate Atokena Abe with a leap of 14-03.
She also won the high jump with a length of 4-10.25.
May won the 100 with a time of 14.13 seconds and the 400 with a time of 1:08.34.
Jennica Maines also won the triple jump and Abe claimed the 200 for the Bruins.
Ryan Lester won both hurdles events for the Loggers: the 100 (18.52 seconds) and the 300 (52.29 seconds).
Crescent’s Shannon Williams won the discus with a throw of 100-09 and was second in the shot put with a throw of 30-08.
McKenzie Brannan also won the javelin with a throw of 96-11 for the Loggers.
Faye Chartraw was the lone event winner for the Red Devils, taking the shot put with a distance of 36-03.5.
Chartraw was the runner-up in the discus with a throw of 95-01.
All three boys and girls teams will begin the postseason Thursday with the North Olympic League Sub-District meet at Crescent.
