PREP TENNIS: Port Angeles leading match before rains halt play; Sequim sweeps Chimacum

PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles boys tennis was leading six of seven matches against Klahowya before the rains came and washed away play on Monday afternoon at Port Angeles High School.

The seventh match had yet to start before the matches were halted.

Roughriders head coach Brian Gundersen said two schools are working on finding a date to finish the contest.

Port Angeles (2-0) visits North Kitsap (2-0) for an early season tangle for the top spot in the Olympic League today at 4 p.m.

SEQUIM — The Wolves swept an Olympic League match against the Cowboys on Monday.

Five of the matches were contested, with two Chimacum forfeits.

The closest contest was a 6-1, 6-3 win by Sequim’s No. 1 doubles team of Dustin Koch and Henry Hughes over Chimacum’s Roland Powell and Carter Cam.
