PREP SWIMMING: Three more Riders qualify for state meet

PORT ANGELES — Three more Port Angeles swimmers and divers qualified for state swim meet at the Olympic League Divisional Invitational.

Qualifying for state Tuesday were Roughrider divers Cassii Middlestead with 385.60 points and Lum Fu with 333.75 points and Kenzie Johnson in the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.74.

Port Angeles swimmers qualifying for district include Erin Edwards in the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:18.20, Adriana McClain in the 100 freestyle with a time of 1:05.40 and diver Lily Robertson with 253.30 points.

All of the state qualifiers for the Roughriders include three relay teams, Felicia Che in two individual events, Nadia Cole in seven individual events (out of eight), Johnson in two individual events and Middlestead and Fu in the diving.

A total of 18 Roughriders have qualified for district in 56 individual events.

Port Angeles and Sequim will next compete in the district championships held at Hazen High School on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 3-4, with the diving being held at Lindbergh High School.

The top six places in each individual event advance to the state championships at the King County Aquatic Center in Federal Way on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 10-11.
