PREP SPORTS: Sprague siblings named Loggers of the Year

JOYCE — Siblings Naomii and Dom Sprague were named the 2024 Crescent Loggers Athletes of the Year.

The Loggers athletes of the year must play in three sports during the school year and must be in good academic standing.

Naomii Sprague, a sophomore, was all-North Olympic League in volleyball and girls basketball and was a big part of helping both teams make the district playoffs. She averaged 11.7 points a game for the Loggers and was one of the top defensive basketball players in the state, averaging 5.3 steals a game. The girls basketball team had its best season in years with a 13-7 record.

She also competed in track, winning 22 events during the season and qualifying for the state 1B track and field meet in Yakima in the 100 hurdles and triple jump. She placed ninth in the hurdles and 12th in the triple jump.

Dom Sprague, a junior, was all-North Olympic League in both football and basketball. He helped lead the Loggers basketball team to its best season in years with an 18-6 record, coming to within one game of state regionals. He also participated in track and field, winning six events and qualifying for the state 1B meet, coming in 16th in the long jump.
