FORKS — Five Forks players reached double figures in scoring as the Spartans picked up their second Pacific League boys basketball blowout of the week in an 84-23 win over Chief Leschi on Thursday.
Forks beat North Beach 77-38 Tuesday, but it wasn’t a highlight performance.
Against the Warriors, the Spartans were far more active, according to coach Keith Weekes.
“Much better energy from our guys, we didn’t sit back and wait for things to happen,” Weekes said. “They did a good job playing solid defense, not getting into bad habits. Our guards did a great job being active and just running the floor and that carried over to the score.
“Our bigs kind of got a break from all their hard work because everyone else was working so hard and scoring fast. Pretty early on we were able to get a good rotation of 3-4 new players every few minutes. It helped keep our guys engaged, eager for their turn to get back in.
“We’ve been struggling a little bit lately, based on our standards, so this game we set some basic goals we wanted to achieve and they were able to succeed in almost all of them. We are halfway through our league schedule, we have to be ready to adapt and overcome any challenges the second time through.
Landen Olson led the Spartans with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and seven rebounds. Bubba Hernandez-Stansbury added 16 points on perfect 7-of-7 shooting with three steals. Titus Rowley added 11 points and Noah Foster had 11, his second-straight double-digit game.
Forks (4-0, 14-2) hosts Ilwaco on Wednesday.

PORT ANGELES — Five pins separated the Roughriders and Wolves in Thursday’s Rainshadow Rumble rivalry match at Laurel Lanes.
Cooper Heitt’s 172 led Sequim to a game one win and a two-point lead, but Port Angeles came back to take game two and tie it up behind Zoey Van Gordon’s 200.
After splitting the Baker games, the Riders claimed the final point by narrowly earning the overall match pin count 1,595 to the Wolves’ 1,590.
“It was a tightly contested, back-and-forth match that could have gone either way,” Port Angeles coach Becky Gundersen said.
