SEQUIM — Sequim pitcher Tanner Rhodefer and second base Evan Hurn were voted to the Olympic League 2A baseball first team by the league’s coaches, the league announced Tuesday.
Rhodefer, a senior, was 5-4 for the Wolves this season with a 2.63 ERA. He struck out 64 batters in 61 1/3 innings pitched.
At the plate, he had Sequim’s second-highest batting average (.386) and had four doubles, eight RBIs and nine stolen bases.
Hurn, a junior, led the Wolves with a .400 batting average and a .615 slugging percentage with a home run, two doubles, three triples, 18 RBIs and three stolen bases.
Sequim’s coaching staff, led by head coach Dave Ditlefsen, shared the staff of the year honors with North Kitsap.
Sequim had two players named to the second team: designated hitter Nigel Christian and outfielder Dusty Bates.
Port Angeles placed three players on the second team: outfielders Jace Bohman and Curan Bradley and pitcher Travis Paynter.
North Mason’s Daniel Burggraaf was named Olympic League 2A MVP.

Seven Cowboys named all-league
CHIMACUM — State-bound Chimacum placed seven players on the Olympic League 1A softball first team.
Pitcher Ryley Eldridge leads the list, followed by first basemen Shanya Nisbet, second baseman Bradyn Nelson, shortstop Kiersten Snyder, outfielders Kyah McKinlay and Taylor Carthum and utility player Mechelle Nisbet.
Klahowya freshman Amber Bunalough was voted league MVP.
