SEQUIM — Sequim served up 16 aces en route to a three-set win over Port Townsend 25-18, 25-10, 25-16.
The win keeps the Wolves (5-1, 8-4) within one game of undefeated North Kitsap and Port Angeles in the Olympic League volleyball standings.
The Roughriders (6-0, 8-3) and Vikings (6-0, 12-0) face off tonight in Port Angeles, and then Sequim hosts the Riders on Monday.
Hannah Hudson led Sequim on Tuesday night with seven aces on 17 for 17 serving. Hudson began the second set serving 12 points in a row, and seven of those points were aces.
Caitlin Stofferahn had four aces — all in the first game — on 6 of 7 serving. Alyse Armstrong also had four aces, and served 17/18.
Hudson also led the Wolves with 11 perfect passes and 21 digs.
“Hannah played excellent defense,” Sequim coach Jennie Heilman Webber said.
Armstrong contributed eight digs, Emma LeBlanc had seven, Rylie Roberts had six and Lex Besand finished with five.
Stofferahn had a personal-best 13 kills.
“Stoff palyed very aggressive at the net,” Heilman Webber said.
Setters Emily Wallner and Armstrong paced Sequim with 18 and 12 assists, respectively. Each also contributed five kills.
Kylee Salazar went in the third game and contributed three kills.
LeBlanc (10/10), Roberts (8/8) and Sydney Munn (5/5) all had perfect serving matches.
Katie Stevenson made three perfect passes out of four.
Before its big matchup with rival Port Angeles on Monday, Sequim plays at Bremerton (1-5, 1-11) tonight.
Port Townsend (1-6, 2-10) hosts Olympic (1-5, 3-9) tonight.
Port Angeles 3, North Mason 0
BELFAIR — The Roughriders won their final match before hosting North Kitsap tonight in a battle of the Olympic League last remaining undefeated teams.
Port Angeles took the match in three sets 25-17, 25-10, 25-14.
“[Our team] came into [Tuesday’s] match at North Mason with a goal to come in and play well and strong, and that they did,” Port Angeles coach Christine Halberg said.
“In games two and three, we were able to keep our unforced errors to a minimum, which is always a goal.”
Bailee Jones had 13 kills, five digs and two blocks, and served 14/15 for 10 points.
Maddy Hinrichs led the Riders with 14 kills, and contributed seven digs, two blocks and served 7/8 with one ace.
Kendra Harvey served 18/19 with four aces for 15 points, and had 13 digs three assists.
Holli Williams contributed 24 assists and four digs.
“I was able to play some girls in different positions tonight, which helps strengthen the depth and versatility on our team,” Halberg said.
With the win, Port Angeles improves to 6-0 in league play and 8-3 overall. North Mason falls to 1-5 and 2-11.
The Riders JV and C teams also swept the Bulldogs.
JV won 25-16, 25-22, 25-18, while the C team won 25-17, 25-10, 25-14.
Quilcene 3, Shorewood 1
QUILCENE — The Rangers continued their stellar season with a four-set win over Shorewood Christian 22-25, 25-22, 25-18, 25-13.
Quilcene senior Kiani Clissold was 17/20 serving with four Aces; seven kills, five blocks and four digs.
Junior Sammy Rae led the Rangers with five aces on 10/14 serving. She also had a team-high eight kills, two blocks and seven digs.
Sophomore Megan Weller served 17/21 with three aces, seven kills and a team-high 16 digs.
The Rangers received significant contributions from freshmen Katie Bailey, Bailey Kieffer and Allison Jones.
Bailey was 6/8 serving with six kills, one block and six digs.
Kieffer Served 18/20 with three kills, one block and Digs.
Jones serving 13/14 with an ace. She also had seven digs and 22 assists.
“We are working really hard on our defense skills and teamwork,” Quilcene coach Joni Crowell said following Tuesday’s match.
“The Shorewood Christian team was very good at mixing up their tips and hitting, and it helped us practice reading the hitter.
“Our serve-receive was strong and we were able to stay in system for much of play.”
Last week, the Rangers beat Wishkah Valley in three sets 25-8, 25-8, 25-10. They also took first place at the Crescent Invitational.

Sequim 3, Port Townsend 0
SEQUIM — Maeve Harris returned from injury to score a goal and help the Wolves earn a league win over the visiting Redskins.
Makayla Bentz and Vianey Cadenas also scored for Sequim (3-11) on Tuesday night.
“This was a good, hard-fought game,” Port Townsend coach Colin Foden said.
“The two sides were only separated by a couple of defensive slips, some missed Port Townsend chances, two key Port Townsend injuries and the return of Sequim’s Maeve Harris.
“[Our players] have raised their game over the season and there were periods of real quality.”
The Wolves led 1-0 at halftime before pulling away with goals in the 48th and 58th minutes.
“There was hope of a result this evening ,and even at one goal down there seemed to be a real chance,” Foden said.
“It wasn’t to be, however, but the [our] team can hold their heads up high for a memorable performance.
“Malia Henderson had a superb game in goal, [and] the work rate was impressive from the talented Lily Murock , Brenna Latchford (until she was injured), Rebecca Stewart, Anne Meek, Emily Slough and McKenzie Ginther.”
The Redskins (0-15) close out their season tonight against Olympic (9-5) at Memorial Field.
Sequim plays at Bremerton (6-8) tonight before concluding its season at home against Port Angeles (5-9).
