SEQUIM — Sequim lost just five games in five contested matches to sweep past Olympic 7-0 in an Olympic League boys tennis victory.
No. 3 doubles player Adrian Brown was named Player of the Match by Wolves coach Mark Textor for his play with partner William Hughes in a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win.
Sequim hosts Bainbridge on Tuesday.

KINGSTON — The Riders swept all four doubles matches and won the Nos. 1 and 3 singles matches as well.
“I thought we came out pretty focused today,” said coach Brian Gundersen.
Gundersen singled out James Burkhardt and Zane Glassock as his players of the match.
“James and Zane have been doing a great job working together, communicating on the court and executing their shots,” Gundersen said. “They have been playing well all season, and today was no different.”
The Riders (3-2) visit North Mason on Monday.

FORKS — The Spartans earned a home tie with the Cardinals thanks to a goal from sophomore Esperanza Salazar Garibay.
“It was a great game, and I couldn’t be prouder of my team,” Forks coach Tracy Gillett said.
“Each player performed well and is improving each game.”
Gillett praised sophomore Keira Johnson for “her tenacity, amazing work ethic and drive.”
“She is one amazing soccer player, and you would be shocked to know this was her first time ever playing [the sport],” Gillett said. “A second shoutout goes to Esperanza Salazar Garibay for making the only goal with a beautiful shot. She entered the field a little nervous, but as soon as the whistle blew, she was focused and ready. Thank you to those two young ladies as well as the rest of our team for all of their hard work. I can’t wait to see how the rest of this season goes.”
Forks (0-2-1) visits Ocosta on Monday.
Vashon 1, East Jefferson 0
VASHON — The Rivals played evenly with a Pirates squad expected to be in the mix for a playoff spot this season.
“We knew Vashon was going to be solid and in the fight for second behind Klahowya,” coach Rob Cantley said.
“I told the girls before the game that it’s all going to be about mentality and not being intimidated, and they took that to heart and showed a lot of fight in the game.”
Vashon took advantage of a defensive lapse about 15 minutes before halftime to score its goal.
“We were never out of it. It was pretty much a midfield battle for most of the game,” Cantley said.
“Our midfield trio of Iris Mattern, Clare Johnson and Kaylen Pray were all matched up 3-on-3 in the midfield. It was a fun game to watch in that respect.
“And Ava [Shiflett] was up front, running her socks off and causing issues.”
East Jefferson (1-3, 2-3) hosts Annie Wright on Monday.
Volleyball
Forks 3, Ilwaco 0
ILWACO — Still processing a community tragedy, the Spartans swept their long-delayed season opener against the Fishermen.
Ilwaco observed a moment of silence for the three West End teens killed in last week’s wreck.
Forks captains Kyra Neel, Kadie Wood and Nicole Winger expressed their thoughts.
“They gave us a moment of silence; we had the boys with us,” the trio said. “We knew that we weren’t only playing for us, but for them, with them.
“We wanted to show the community that we can get through this, and we will, together.
“The majority of the team had so many feelings and emotions that playing that game helped us let those feelings out and get through it, knowing that we were surrounded by so much love.”
Neel led the Spartans with nine kills, six aces and three blocks.
Kaidence Rigby added six aces and four kills, while Wood posted four kills and three aces.
Senior Kyrissa Duncan tallied a pair of kills and two aces.
Freshmen Erika Williams and Eladia Hernandez also contributed, with Williams posting 16 assists and two aces and Hernandez perfect on her serves.
“I am so proud of them all and was so good to see them on the court and working together through the night,” coach Jenn LeDuke said.
