BREMERTON —Port Angeles posted two individual state qualifying times and 12 individual district qualifying times in Thursday’s 131-51 win against the Klahowya Eagles.
Felicia Che won the 200-yard individual medley and her time of 2 minutes, 17.78 seconds booked a trip to the state swimming meet.
Che was a double-event winner for Port Angeles. She also claimed the 100 butterfly in 1:02.30.
Nadia Cole was second in the 50 freestyle with a state-qualifying time of 26.11.
The Riders host Class 3A Peninsula of Gig Harbor in a nonleague meet at William Shore Memorial Pool at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Girls Soccer Sequim 3, Coupeville 1
COUPEVILLE — Jessica Deitzman, Adare McMinn and Hope Glasser found the net for the Sequim Wolves girls soccer team in a win over the Coupeville Wolves.
“In the first half [we] looked disjointed and had trouble finding [our] rhythm even though [we] found the back of the net twice and Coupeville once,” Wolves coach Derek Vander Velde said.
“The second half turned out to be much better as necessary tactical changes were made and the girls worked together on the field.
“[We] found our stride, scored another goal and played with more fluidity.”
Claire Henninger made 14 saves in goal for Sequim.
Vander Velde said Henninger, Eden Johnson, Shayli Schuman, Yana Hoesel and Aylee Bennett stood out for their good play.
Port Angeles 4, Kingston 0
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders rolled past the Buccaneers in their Olympic League 2A Division opener.
“We have always had really tight games against Kingston and it was very important to start the league play on the right note,” head coach Scott Moseley said.
Emily Boyd tallied her first goal of the season, taking a Cheyenne Wheeler throw in and crushing a 15-yard shot past the Kingston goalie.
“Their keeper almost made a great save on Boyd’s goal, but Emily hit it with such pace that it powered in” said Moseley.
Boyd credited a team effort for the win.
“We passed very well and dominated the midfield,” Boyd said.
The second score came off a corner kick.
Leah Haworth served in a curving ball that Kyrsten McGuffey headed toward goal. Freshman Delany Wenzl was there to knock in the loose ball from close range.
Taylar Clark hit a left-footed cross that Sierra Robinson was able to first-time volley in from 5 yards for a 3-0 lead two minutes into the second half.
It was Robinson’s third goal of the season.
The final goal in the 45th minute was started by Boyd, whose shot was saved, then fumbled by the Kingston goalie. McGuffey charged in to poke in the loose ball.
Boyd praised the team’s defense.
“The defense played amazing and was like a brick wall,” she said.
Moseley agreed.
“We switched the ball really well, were very composed and confident, and limited Kingston to zero shots on goal.”
Roughrider goalie Madelyn Wenzl earned her second shutout of the season.
Moseley also praised the play of defenders Saige Hefton and Lucah Folden.
“Saige has worked really hard to improve her game this past year and that is showing on the field. “Also, freshman Lucah Folden was incredibly confident and steady playing central defense,” he said.
He named the pair as his defensive players of the game. Moseley also selected the goal scorers as his offensive players of the match and McGuffey and Clark for their play in transition.
Port Angeles (1-0-0, 2-1-0) visits Bremerton (0-2-0, 0-4-0) on Tuesday.

Bremerton 4, Port Angeles 3
BREMERTON — The Riders played with enthusiasm and displayed grit in a close loss to the Knights, according to coach Gil Stockton.
He awarded team balls to Hunter Dougherty and Lucas Jarnigan.
“Hunter injured his knee before the match, but suppressed his discomfort,” Stockton said.
“And Lucas, another freshman new to the game, displayed amazing ability and court sense to take their match to tie breakers in the second and third sets.”
Port Angeles (2-3) visits Sequim (3-1) on Monday.
