SEQUIM — Cameron Chase scored a hat trick in the final home match of his high school career and the Sequim boys soccer team locked down a top-three league finish.
Sequim’s 3-0 win over the Knights on Tuesday also set up rival Port Angeles for a chance to clinch Olympic League 2A’s final postseason berth.
All 11 Sequim seniors started the match, which was a first for coach Dave Brasher.
Chase opened the scoring in the 12th minute off an assist by fellow senior Thomas Winfield.
In the 61st minute, Josiah Urquia kicked the ball into the corner, where Lane Danielson tracked it down and crossed it toward the goal, and Chase knocked it into the goal with his chest.
Chase wrapped up the scoring with a penalty kick in the 75th minute after Bremerton’s goalkeeper received a red card for tripping Robert Beeson.
Sequim goalkeeper Austin Wagner, another senior, made three saves to earn his third consecutive shutout.
The Wolves (7-4, 21 points; 10-5) finish the regular season tonight on the road against Olympic (2-9, six points; 2-12).
If Sequim earns three points by winning in regulation or overtime and Kingston (10-1, 31 points; 13-1-1) defeats North Kitsap (8-3, 23 points; 8-3-2) in regulation or overtime, then the Wolves would leapfrog the Vikings and finish second in the league because they would have one more point.
If North Kitsap loses in a shootout, though, it would still earn one point, and would likely own a tiebreaker over Sequim.
Port Angeles (6-5, 18 points; 8-6-1) will make the postseason by earning points today in their matchup with last-place North Mason (0-11, zero points; 2-13).
Winning before penalty kicks is worth three points, a shootout loss garners two points and a shootout loss is one point.

BELFAIR — The Wolves concluded the regular season with their second straight blowout victory.
Sequim also beat Kingston 10-0 on Friday.
The Wolves (6-6, 11-8) finish fourth in Olympic League 2A and will open the District 2/3 Tournament against White River (9-5, 12-8) in Kent on Saturday at 10 a.m.
Sequim put up six runs in the first inning of Tuesday’s rout of the Bulldogs and added six more in the fourth.
Daniel Harker, Ian Dennis and Johnnie Young each drove in two runs for the Wolves. James Grubb scored three times, and Porter and Evan Hurn had two runs apiece.
Harker earned the win by pitching three shutout innings.
If the Wolves beat the Hornets, they play again Saturday at 7 p.m. If they lose the opener, their second game will be at 4 p.m.

BELFAIR — For the third time this season, Wolves pitcher Shelby Jones took part in a no-hitter.
Jones and McKenzie Bentz held the Bulldogs hitless over five innings Tuesday. Bentz pitched the first three innings, striking out four and not allowing any base runners. Jones struck out three and walked two in her two innings.
After scoring once in the first and once in the second to take a 2-0 lead, Sequim’s offense exploded for seven in the third and five in the fourth to essentially put the game away.
Allysen Montelius went 2 for 5 with a double and drove in four of the Wolves’ runs. Bobbi Sparks had two runs, two hits and two RBI.
Jones and Bentz both chipped in at the plate. Jones doubled and drove in a run, while Bentz turned a single and three walks into three runs.
Jones previously teamed up with Isabelle Dennis to no-hit Bremerton, and with Bentz and Montelius to no-hit Port Townsend.
Sequim (7-2, 14-3) is off until next Tuesday when it faces Port Angeles (9-0, 17-0) at Dry Creek Elementary School in the annual Pink It Up game.
Both teams will be sporting pink uniform tops, and there will be a raffle and a special “First Pitch and Catch” with two cancer survivors.
Proceeds from the raffle will be donated to Hospice of Clallam County.
The Wolves are currently tied for second place with Olympic in the Olympic League 2A Division.

QUILCENE — Cleanup hitter Katie Bailey went 3 for 4 at the plate to pace the Rangers in a nonleague game against the Class 2B Loggers.
Scoreless heading to the bottom of the third, Quilcene pushed across seven runs in the inning, including an RBI triple by Bailey, to break the game wide open.
Alex Johnsen went 2 for 4 with an RBI for the Rangers, and Madison Coffey added a two-run triple.
Bailey Kieffer pitched all five innings for her ninth win on the season.
Kieffer allowed four hits and struck out eight.
“The only run for the Loggers in the fifth inning broke a 34-inning scoreless streak by [our] pitchers,” Quilcene coach Mark Thompson said.
The Rangers (5-0, 11-2) host Rainier Christian (5-2, 5-2) today.

PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders fell in their final home match of the season.
Summer Olsen was Port Angeles’ only winner Monday, defeating Kingston’s Tessa Johnson 6-0, 6-2 in the No. 3 singles matchup.
The Riders honored seniors Maddy Woods, Maria Soule, Patricia Polo, Karina Paup-Byrnes and Katherine Gorss.
Port Angeles (4-11) will take two doubles teams and two singles players to next week’s Olympic League tournament in Poulbso.
Audrey Little and Claire Fritschler will be the Riders’ singles participants. The doubles duos are Woods and Soule, and Emily Traughber and Polo.
