QUILCENE — The Quilcene volleyball team improved to 3-0 on the season with a three-set victory over visiting Mary M. Knight.
The Rangers won 25-15, 25-18, 25-11.
“The Lady Rangers are starting to come together and played very well as a team tonight,” Quilcene coach Joni Crowell said of Wednesday’s match.
“Our serving was tough, and the girls that are jump and jump-float serving are serving in more and more.”
Kiani Clissold, Sammy Rae and Bailey Kieffer were all 12 for 13 on serves.
Clissold added nine aces, four kills and two digs. Rae had five aces, five kills and a block, and Kieffer had a pair of aces and three kills.
Also for the Rangers, Elysah Schryver; was 7 for 9 serving with four aces, a kill and two assists; Allison Jones was 6-8 on serves with an ace, a kill and six assists; and Katie Bailey served 11-15 with four aces, three kills, three digs and one block.

“And then we have a week with no games that we are going to take advantage of to work on some specifics that only show up when games start,” Crowell said.
North Kitsap 3, Port Townsend 0
POULSBO — Redskins coach Nettie Hawkins is not discouraged by her team’s three-set loss to the Vikings.
“The score against North Kitsap doesn’t show anything,” Hawkins said.
“The girls really played very well tonight. Our defense was right where it needed to be, but tonight we gave them to many points on serving errors.”
North Kitsap won Tuesday’s match 25-15, 25-10, 25-7.
For Port Townsend, Megan Juran had five kills and eight digs; Megan Lee contributed two kills and nine digs; Trisha Reeves added three kills and two blocks; Amy Hemsley had three kills, nine assists and six digs; Avery Selisch had six digs; Rio Golden had five digs; and Baili Shaw finished with 14 digs.
Sequim 3, Olympic 1
SEQUIM — The Wolves shook off first-set loss and won the next three to take the match from the Trojans.
“[We] started the match fairly well, stayed ahead until 20 points and stalled,” Sequim coach Jennie Webber-Heilman said of Tuesday’s match.
“Olympic served tough and won the first game.
“We served tougher the rest of the match.”
Emma LeBlanc had a six-point serving run in the second game, and in the fourth game, Alyse Armstrong a nine-point run and Alexas Besand and Hannah Hudson had 5-point runs.
Armstrong was 20 for 22 serving with a pair of aces and 19 assists.
Emily Wallner was 14-16 serving with three aces, and LeBlanc was a perfect 12-12 on serves with three aces and 10 assists.
Besand served 11 for 12 and had two aces. She also had nine kills, three assists and five digs.
Hudson and Emily Wallner led the Wolves’ defensive effort — Hudson with 24 digs and Wallner had 11.
“Our hitting improved after the first game, with Lex [Besand] getting eight of her nine kills in the last two games,” Webber Heilman said.
“We overpowered them in the last couple games.”
