PORT TOWNSEND — The Port Angeles swim team maintained its undefeated league record with a 109-74 win over Port Townsend in a battle of unbeaten Olympic League teams.
The pool’s 18 2/3-yard distance made the meet a contest of sprints, and the Roughriders placed first in 10 of 12 events and outscored the Redskins in eight events.
Carter Juskevich (200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke) and Ashlee Reid (100 free and 100 backstroke) were double winners for Port Angeles.
Other first-place finishers for the Riders were Kylee Reid, Janie Macias and Audra Perrizo.
Kylee Reid won the 200 individual medley. Macias placed first in the 100 butter fly, and Perrizo won the 500 free.
Port Angeles also had a pair of relay wins.
Kylee Reid, Juskevich, Macia and Perrizo won the 200 medley relay, and Juskevich, Ashlee Reid, Macias and Brooke Sires placed first in the 400 freestyle relay.
The Riders (6-0, 6-1) next face Bremerton (0-6) on Thursday at William Shore Memorial Pool on senior night.
Port Townsend (5-1) is at North Kitsap (4-1) on Thursday.

Port Angeles 5, Sequim 2
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders closed out the regular season with a 5-2 league win vs. Sequim on Friday.
It was Port Angeles’ second 5-2 win over its rival this week.
The Roughriders finish the season with an 11-2 record (6-2 in the Olympic League).
Port Angeles swept the three singles matches on Friday, with Alex Brown topping Victor Lam 6-1, 7-6; Nick Fritschler beating Danny Willis 6-2, 2-6, 6-3; and Ben Basden defeating Nick Johnston 6-2, 6-4.
Port Angeles coach Brian Gundersen singled out Nick Fritschler as the player of the match.
“Nick has battled all year for us and his resilience really paid off [Friday],” said Gundersen.
The Wolves took the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles matches. Brandon Payne and Mathew Richards defeated Daniel Manwell and Hayden Kays-Erdmann 6-4, 7-6, and Jerry Bryan and Eli Berg beat Micah Needham and Jace Bohman 7-6, 6-2.
The Riders won the other two doubles matches: Tanner Gochnour and Janson Pederson bettered Kevin Cassal and Wesley Gilchrist 6-4, 6-3, and Matt Hendry and Connor Heilman defeated Stephen Prorok-Henry He 6-4, 6-4.
Port Angeles and Sequim (3-3, 4-6) travel to North Kitsap on Wednesday for the league tournament.
Port Angeles 4, Olympic 3
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders escaped with a close win over the upset-minded Trojans on Thursday.
“Olympic showed up ready to play and we really had to battle to get this win,” said Port Angeles coach Brian Gundersen.
Janson Pederson was the Riders’ only singles winner, beating Jack Rittenhouse 6-1, 6-3 in the No. 2 match.
Olympic (1-5, 2-7) took the No. 1 doubles match, but Port Angeles won the other three.
Daniel Manwell and Hayden Kays-Erdmann beat Shamar Hodges and Ben Parrish 6-1, 6-1; Micah Needham and Tanner Gochnour defeated Cole Bender and Prab Singha 4-6, 7-6, 6-3; and Nicholas Emmett and Ben Basden topped Ethan Tufts and Logan Peck 6-3, 6-1.
Gunderson singled out the play of his four seniors, Manwell, Kays-Erdmann, Emmett and Needham.
“Thursday was Senior Day for us, and they all contributed to the victory,” Gundersen said.

Klahowya 4, Port Angeles 0
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders dropped a league match to the visiting Eagles 4-0 on Thursday night.
Port Angeles played Klahowya evenly through much of the match, but the Eagles’ top talent was able to break the Riders to earn the win.
“The first 25 minutes was really even. We had chances, they had chances,” said Port Angeles coach Scott Moseley.
“But then they were able to break down our defense with very skillful passing.”
College prospect Mackenzie Cook was able to net two first half goals to put pressure on the Riders that they were not able to match.
Port Angeles’ best chance to score came in the second half when the Riders earned a penalty kick, but they were unable to convert the kick.
For the game, Klahowya had 12 shots while Port Angeles took eight.
Riders goalkeeper Haley Baxley had eight saves.
Moseley named Emma Moseley the transition player of the game and Maddie Boe the offensive players of the game.
Klahowya, currently third in the Olympic League, moves to 11-3 while Port Angeles drops to 4-9. The Riders trail Bremerton by two games for the final spot in the league tournament.
Port Angeles travels to North Mason (4-9) on Monday.
North Kitsap 5, Port Townsend 0
PORT TOWNSEND — After a first-half in which the Redskins played the undefeated and first-place Vikings tightly, only to trail 5-0, Port Townsend held North Kitsap scoreless after halftime.
“Certainly Nort Kitsap was the better team, but [we] had not played badly at all,” Port Townsend coach Colin Foden said.
“A four-minute spell saw three goals go in, but among all five of the goals only one appeared to be unavoidable.
“It is a credit to the team’s courage and tenacity that they came out in the second half and tied the next 40 minutes 0-0.
“Just about everyone got a few minutes on the field, and each performed well.
“There are a few injuries and tiredness is still a factor — defending for so long can be exhausting.”
North Kitsap’s goals came in the 14th, 20th, 22nd, 24th and 38th minutes.
“There were some quality moments from Lily Murock, excellent tracking from Rosemary D’Andera and a greatly improved physicality from Reilly Berkshire,” Foden said.
“A disappointing score line, but a fine second half from everyone.”
The Redskins (0-14) host Sequim (2-11) on Tuesday night at Memorial Field.
