PREP SPORTS: Port Angeles swimming beats Bremerton; other prep reports

BREMERTON — The Port Angeles boys swimming and diving team won its last match before winter break by beating Bremerton 129-49.

Cole Urnes and Jay Liang were double winners for the Roughriders, who placed first and outscored the Knights in 11 of 12 events.

Urnes took first in the 200-yard freestyle and 100-yard backstroke, and Liang won the 200-yard individual medley and 100-yard breaststroke.

Urnes time of one minute and 6.78 seconds in the 100 back qualified him for the district meet.

Other district qualifier for the Riders were Wei-Yan Fu in the 200 individual medley and 100 freestyle, John Macias and Seth Bamer in the 100 butterfly, Kevin Hertzog and Nathan Brock in the 500 freestyle and Bamer in the 100 breaststroke.

Port Angeles (3-0) next faces Klahowya on Thursday, Jan. 9.

BELFAIR — The Roughriders remained undefeated in Olympic League action by dominating the Bulldogs on the road.

Cody Anderson, Ozzy Swagerty, Ricky Crawford, Matt Robbins, Kyle La Fritz and Roberto Coronel won their matches by pin.

Other winners for Port Angels were Brady Anderson, Tyler Gale and Morgan Mower.
