MARYSVILLE — The top-ranked Neah Bay football team improved to 5-0 on the season with a 52-0 win over Tulalip at Marysville-Pilchuck High School.
The Red Devils racked up 447 yards rushing while holding the Hawks to 158 yards of total offense.
Tulalip had chances to score, but wasn’t able to finish off its drives on Saturday afternoon.
The Hawks opened the game with a 15-play drive that reached deep into Neah Bay territory before turning the ball over on downs at the Neah Bay 17-yard line.
Two plays later, Red Devils quarterback Josiah Greene scored on a 77-yard run.
On its next possession, Tulalip advanced to the Neah Bay 40 before stalling on a fourth-down play.
Cody Cummins put the Red Devils ahead 14-0 with the first of his two touchdown runs from 22 yards out.
Aided by roughing the passer and pass interference penalties, the Hawks responded with an 18-play drive that was ended with a turnover at the Neah Bay 7-yard line.
Tulalip intercepted Greene’s pass to set up a first-and-goal from the Red Devils’ 3. Three plays later, though, Greene recovered a fumble to end the Hawks’ drive.
Cummins put Neah Bay ahead 22-0 with a 42-yard run with 4:47 to play in the second quarter.
Cummins finished with 164 yards rushing on eight carries.
The Red Devils scored a few minutes later on a 13-yard run by Collin Haupt.
John Reamer then recovered a fumble forced by Elisha Winck to set up a 13-yard touchdown run by Greene to close out the half with Neah Bay holding a commanding 38-0 advantage.
In the third quarter, Greene hooked up with Reamer for a 28-yard score, and Chris Martinez finished the scoring with a 5-yard touchdown run.
Greene ran for 104 yards and two touchdowns on three carries and passed for 69 yards.
Martinez had 87 yards rushing and Haupt finished with 81.
Cummins and Tyler McCaulley led Neah Bay’s defense with eight tackles each. Haupt, Reamer and Cole Svec added seven apiece.
Jeremy Greene, Josh Monette and Winck each had a sack. Jeremy Greene also had an interception, and Zeke Greene recovered a fumble.
Neah Bay next plays Lopez (5-0) at Oak Harbor High School on Saturday.
Lopez 48, Clallam Bay 16
CLALLAM BAY — Matt Mohr’s 206 yards rushing weren’t enough for the Bruins against the big-play Lobos.
All of Mohr’s eight carries Friday night came in the second-half after he was moved from the offensive line to running back.
“He did well for only playing two quarters [at running back],” Clallam Bay coach Cal Ritter said.
Mohr scored both of the Bruins’ touchdowns on runs of 73 and 5 yards.
Casey Randall added 105 yards for Clallam Bay (1-1, 2-4), who are finally a full strength going into this week’s matchup against fifth-ranked Lummi (1-1, 4-2).
Joe Maneval picked up 5 yards in a rare carry for the Bruins, and Cal Ritter had 35 yards on five carries.
Clallam Bay quarterback Kelly Gregory completed four passes — two to Sam Signor and one each to Evan Messinger and Casey Randall — for 28 yards.
“We have a tough week ahead of us,” Cal Ritter said.
“We look forward to playing Lummi. I think we’ll give them a good game.”

Port Townsend at Hole in the Wall
ARLINGTON — The Redskins had many runner achieve personal records at the Hole in the Wall Invitational at Lakewood High School.
Ryan Clarke set a new 5K personal record with a time of 16 minutes and 35.63 seconds.
Adam Braude (22:36.1) and Mark Streett (19:23.7) also achieved new personal bests for Port Townsend, as did freshmen Alejandro Montanez (20:58) and River Yearian (21:25.4).
In the girls race, Amelia Grant had Port Townsend’s best time, finishing in 21:55.2, a personal record. Hannah Trailer (22:19.6), Emily Skeel (27:29.4) and Ari Winter (24:13.3) also personal best.
“The team used this Invite to prepare for the West Central District race [on] November 2,” Redskins coach Jeni Little said of Saturday’s meet.
“Amelia Grant, Adam Braude and Mark Streett all discovered another gear at the Hole in the Wall Invite.”
Port Townsend hosts Klahowya and North Mason on Wednesday at Discovery Bay Golf Club.
