PREP SPORTS: Elma one-hits the Forks baseball team; Montesano sweeps softball doubleheader

BEAVER — Forks managed only one hit in a 12-0 loss to Elma in five innings in Evergreen 1A League baseball action.

The Eagles, meanwhile, ripped 11 hits and finished the game with an eight-run fifth inning that put the mercy rule into effect.

Elma’s bats were aided Tuesday by walks and errors by the Forks defense.

Parker Browning had the Spartans’ lone hit. Reece Hagen walked twice and caught a good game behind the plate.

Javier Contreras pitched 4 2/3 innings to take the loss.

Forks (0-3, 2-3) travels to Montesano (0-2, 0-3) for a doubleheader today.

MONTESANO — The Spartans dropped a pair to the Grizzlies in Evergreen 1A League action Tuesday.

Forks struggled in the field, committing 15 errors in the two games.

The Spartans had two hits in the first game and racked up five in the second.

Forks (2-2, 3-3) plays a doubleheader at North Beach on Monday.
