CHIMACUM — Chimacum picked up two wins in two days against its Jefferson County counterparts, knocking off Quilcene 9-5 and Port Townsend 14-0.
Friday’s game with the Rangers was played in what manager Andy Lingle described as “a brutal windstorm.”
“It was hard to stay balanced and keep the dirt out of your eyes,” Lingle said.
“The boys focused and played good. We still need to clean up our defense a bit.”
Despite the wind, Cowboys pitchers Lane Dotson and Myles Hundley combined to allow just two hits and one walk.
Dotson’s father, Darrin, serves as Quilcene’s head coach.
Henry Lovekamp singled twice, drove in a run and scored three runs for Chimacum.
Logan Shaw also hit a two-run single and scored for the Cowboys (1-1, 2-6).
Chimacum hosts Olympic (4-0, 5-3) on Tuesday.
The Rangers (3-1, 4-2) host Muckleshoot (0-2, 0-3)
on Monday.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Cowboys rushed out to a 12-1 lead after three innings before the Redhawks battled back to make things interesting in the bottom of the fourth.
“We gave up a couple of hits and two walks with an error thrown in to give up six runs in the fourth,” Lingle said.
“Port Townsend added another run in the fifth. In the sixth we scored seven runs, six with 2 outs, to end the game in 6 innings.”
Lingle said Chimacum made good adjustments at the plate.
“We have been gearing up for the faster pitchers we have been seeing,” Lingle said.
“However, that wasn’t the case with Port Townsend, so it took us a couple innings to really get our timing down.
“Once we did, they started to make great contact.”
Henry Lovekamp had the best day at the plate for the Cowboys, going 3 for 4 with three RBIs and scoring three runs.
Lane Dotson added four RBIs, and Ari Pape-Uphoff scored twice and drove in two runs.
Port Townsend (0-3, 0-6) visits Klahowya (1-0, 7-0) on Tuesday.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Redhawks lost but coach Tom Webster liked how his team swung the bat against the Buccaneers.
“It was good for us to score some runs,” Webster said.
“I can’t remember the last time we scored 10 runs in a game.”
Wesley Wheeler was 3 for 4 with three doubles and three RBIs.
“Wesley Wheeler’s been hitting the ball really well, and so has Ezra Easley and David Sua,” Webster said.

PORT TOWNSEND — The Redhawks went low and remained unbeaten after knocking off the Wolves in a nine-hole match at Port Townsend Golf Course.
Zack Glover and Patrick Morton shared medalist honors for Port Townsend (4-0) after firing rounds of 3-over-par 38.
The Redhawks’ Keegan Khile was one back with a 39, and Austin Khile carded a 43.
Sequim (1-2) was led by a round of 41 from Travis Priest and a score of 43 from Jack Shea.
Port Townsend visits Kingston (1-3) on Thursday.
The Wolves visit North Mason (1-3) on Thursday.

Sara Shea was next up for Sequim with a round of 54 and Brianna Kettel shot a 56.

Sequim (3-0) visits North Mason (1-1) on Thursday, while Port Townsend (0-4) travels to play Kingston (0-3).

PORT TOWNSEND — Ryley Eldridge led the Cowboys at the bat and the plate in a blowout win over the rival Redhawks.
Eldridge was 4 for 4 with a home run and three RBIs at bat and struck out four of the 14 batters she faced in the win.
Kiersten Snyder was 3 for 4 with a double and an RBI and Kyah McKinlay singled, doubled and drove in four runs.
Taylor Carthum added a two-run triple for Chimacum.
