CHIMACUM — Chimacum came oh-so-close to stopping its season-long losing streak but a final at-bat rally was stopped just short in a 5-4 loss to visiting Bellevue Christian.
The Cowboys put pressure on Vikings reliever Noah Holmes, scoring two seventh-inning runs on three walks and a hit.
Bellevue Christian countered by bringing on Aaron Zakes with two outs, and Zakes shut the rally down by getting the final out on three pitches.
Yoshiki Ishiuchi was 2 for 4 with a double and two runs scored to lead the Cowboys.
Teammate Alex Morris was 1 for 3 with a double and a run and Drew Yackulic was 2 for 3 with an RBI and a run for Chimacum.
Cowboys pitcher Lane Dotson walked seven and allowed four hits on four runs, all in the fourth inning.

POULSBO — The Wolves (7-3, 9-4) left eight runners on base to drop out of a tie for first place in the Olympic League with the Vikings (8-2, 9-4).
Brett Wright was hot at the plate for Sequim going 3 for 4 with a double.
Nick Johnston went five innings on the mound in the loss for the Wolves, allowing four runs on seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts.

MONTESANO — The Spartans dropped both games of a doubleheader with the Bulldogs, losing game one 6-4 and the second game 9-1.
Forks went up early in game one, taking a 4-0 lead after plating four runs in the second inning.
The Spartans starting pitcher Reis Lawson went 3 2/3 innings and allowed three earned runs.
Reliever Reece Hagen quickly surrendered a two-run home run that knotted the game at 4-4 each.
Montesano scored the winning runs in the bottom of the sixth inning after two batters were hit by Forks pitches and came home on a double.
Reece Moody was 2 for 2 for the Spartans with an RBI and a run scored, while Parker Browning was 1 for 3 with an RBI and a run and Caleb Adams was 2 for 2 with a run.
Forks scored its lone run in the second game without getting a hit.
Javier Contreras reached on an error and scored on Nate Gimlin’s RBI groundout.
The Bulldogs scored six runs in the fifth inning to put the game on ice.
Contreras, Hagen and Billy Palmer recorded all three of the Spartans’ hits.
Forks (3-7, 1-7 league) will host a doubleheader with Rochester on Thursday.

Sequim 3, Klahowya 2
SEQUIM — The Wolves scored the first three goals and held on late to avenge an early season defeat against the Eagles.
“Klahowya gave us one of our two losses, so it was nice to get the win,” Sequim coach Dave Brasher said.
The Wolves broke open a 0-0 game in the 37th minute when Nick Baird found the net off of an assist from Thomas Winfield.
Brandon Payne added Sequim’s second goal just before halftime in the 40th minute off a free kick by Baird.
Baird scored again by booting a free kick 20 yards to the upper right corner of the goal in the 48th minute.
“It was a great free kick,” Brasher said.
“Baird was in on all three of our goals. He played great.”
Brasher also praised the defense of seniors Lijah Sanford and Sivestor Morelos.
Klahowya clawed its way back into the game with a goal from Austin Sargent in the 64th minute and another from Casey Sargent in the 80th minute.
Sequim (9-2, 27 points) keeps paces at the top of the Olympic League with North Kitsap (9-1, 27 points) and Kingston (9-2, 27 points).

PORT TOWNSEND — The Redskins topped the Knights on penalty kicks after two scoreless overtimes at Memorial Field.
“[We received] excellent goalkeeping by Forrest Piatt,” Port Townsend coach Steve Shively said.
“Strong defense by PT, especially Colin Coker.”
Max Meier started things off for the Redskins, scoring on a header off a corner kick from teammate Daniel Charlton in the 17th minute.
Bremerton leveled the score when Michael Brown dribbled past two Port Townsend defenders and Piatt to score from the top of the goal box in the 66th minute.
After two scoreless five-minute overtime periods, Port Townsend won the game after converting 4 of 5 penalty kicks to the Knights 3 of 5.
The Redskins won the JV game 4-0.
Port Townsend (3-8, nine points) plays at Sequim on Friday night.
The Redskins are tied for seventh place in the Olympic League. If they can hold that position, they will qualify for a postseason play-in game with the Nisqually League.

BELFAIR — The Roughriders suffered their second straight sudden-death overtime defeat after surrendering the game-winner in the final minute of the second overtime period.
“The game looked to be headed to penalty kicks in the 89th [minute] when several consecutive Rider defensive miscues lead to a walk-in Bulldog golden goal,” Port Angeles coach Chris Saari said.
North Mason scored first on a Daniel Wiseman goal that was assisted by Bjorn Van Dijk.
Agustin Muller tied the score at 1-1 for the Riders after heading in a Vincent Ioffrida cross in the 48th minute.
Van Dijk scored the late game-winner for the Bulldogs.
Saari praised Muller’s play on offense and Ioffrida’s performance in transition.
Port Angeles (5-6, 14 points) hosts Olympic today at Civic Field.
