Austin Peterson fired an 87, Mason Jackson posted an 89 and Alex Brown carded

North Kitsap was led by Logan Kovalenko, who had a round of 94. Teammate Royce Duncan recorded a 108.

“This was an acceptable first win for us on a short but challenging White Horse Golf Course in windy, swirling conditions,” Port Angeles coach Mark Mitrovich said.

“We need to work on our course management, and we played down a little to our competition, and we need to play the course a little more.

The Riders (1-0) host Sequim (1-0) on Wednesday.

“We’re going to have to improve our performance next Wednesday, that’s for sure,” Mitrovich said.
