PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles’ Heidi Leitz pitched a complete-game one-hit shutout and the Roughriders softball team played errorless ball behind her in a 4-0 win over Olympic.
Leitz walked just three batters and struck out eight over seven innings. Olympic came in to Tuesday’s game with a 5-1 overall record.
At the plate, the Riders pounded out 11 hits. Ava-Anne Sheahan was 3-for-3 with an RBI, while Natalie Robinson was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs.
Leitz had an RBI single to help her own cause, while Abby Kimball was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Kennedy Rognlien was 2-for-3 and Mikkhia Stevens had a single.
Port Angeles (3-0, 7-1) next plays Bainbridge (1-2, 2-4) at home at Dry Creek Elementary at 4:15 today.

FORKS — The Forks softball team swept a pair of games from Pe Ell-Willapa Valley 4-2 and 8-5 behind big games from Lizzy Soto, Chloe Gaydeski and Fynlie Peters.
In the opening-game win, Gaydeski pitched the entire game, allowing six hits and just one earned run while striking out three.
Soto was 2-for-3 with two doubles, two runs scored and an RBI. Peters was 2-for-3 with an RBI, while Gaydeski hit a double.
In the nightcap, Peters was 3-for-3 with a home run and a double. She drove in three runs. Keira Johnson was 2-for-4 and Gaydeski was 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Avery Dilley was 2-for-3 with an RBI.
Soto pitched four innings, allowing six hits and an earned run while striking out two. Gaydeski pitched three innings, allowing just two hits and an earned run. She also struck out two.
Forks (1-0, 3-3-1) takes a long spell off for spring break and returns to the field at home April 9 against Winlock.

FORKS — The Forks baseball team split a pair of games with Pe Ell/Willapa Valley, winning the opener 10-6 behind a huge game from Bubba Hernandez, but falling in the nightcap 9-5.
In the victory, Hernandez went 4-for-4 with a triple, two runs scored, five RBIs, four steals and a walk. Landen Olson was 3-for-4 with three RBIs while Titus Rowley was 2-for-2 with three runs scored and an RBI. Kade Highfield hit a triple, scored three runs and drove in a run.
On the mound Gunner Rogers went five innings, allowed five hits and gave up two earned runs. He struck out eight.
In the nightcap, Jack Delgado was 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Olson and Landin Davis each hit doubles and scored a run. Aidan Salazar had a hit, run scored and an RBI.
Forks (3-1, 4-2) is next scheduled to play a doubleheader at Raymond/South Bend on Friday.

KINGSTON — Sequim got a good pitching performance from Ethan Staples and three RBIs from Bryant Laboy to pick up the Wolves’ second Olympic League victory in a 9-5 win over Kingston.
Staples started, going five innings, allowing just two hits while striking out seven.
Brayden White was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored, while Hunter Tennell had a double, two runs scored, two walks and an RBI. Zeke Schmadeke and Ayden Holland each had a hit and RBI.
Sequim (2-4, 2-4) played a nonleague game Wednesday at Coupeville. The Wolves next host Kingston (2-3, 4-4) at 4:15 p.m. today.
