A thick layer of slush coats the soccer pitch at Wally Sigmar Field at Peninsula College in Port Angeles on Saturday, forcing the cancellation of JV and varsity soccer matches between Port Angeles and Bremerton. A storm that brought winter-like conditions, along with lightning and thunder, rendered the field unplayable, prompting a postponement of the games until a later date.
