SEQUIM — The Sequim baseball team erupted for six runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to pull away from Crosspoint in a 12-8 nonleague win.
The Wolves scored all their runs in the sixth with two outs. They strung together five hits, two stolen bases, two balks, a walk and a hit batsman. Brayden White had an RBI double while Devyn Dearinger had a two-run single in the inning.
It turns out the Wolves needed some of those runs as Crosspoint came back in the seventh inning with five runs. A bases-clearing triple did much of the damage for the Warriors.
Dearinger finished 2-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Hunter Tennell had a hit, a run scored, two walks and two RBIs, while Lincoln Bear was 2-for-4 with two runs scored, three stolen bases and an RBI. Ethan Staples was 2-for-3 with a run scored, and Bryant Laboy had a hit, run scored and RBI. The Wolves stole a total of 10 bases.
The pitching duo of Logan Doyle and Tennell allowed seven hits and three earned runs while striking out nine as Crosspoint scored five unearned runs. Doyle started, going five innings, allowing four hits and two earned runs while striking out seven. Tennell pitched the final two innings. He allowed one earned run and three hits while striking out two.
Sequim (2-7, 5-7) has a good chance to move up in the Olympic League standings this week as the Wolves played Bremerton (0-8, 0-8) Tuesday after press deadline, then host the winless Knights at 4:15 p.m. Thursday.

Girls Tennis Olympic 4, Port Angeles 3
PORT ANGELES — The Port Angeles girls team got singles victories from Waverly Mead, Bridget Weed and Emma Murray, but Olympic doubles teams were able to sweep four matches to win 4-3 over the Roughriders.
No. 1 Mead beat Nya Shride 7-5, 6-2, No. 2 Weed beat Clelsea Barber 6-0, 3-6, 6-2, while Murray beat Leah Brashear 6-2, 6-2.
The doubles team of Cayleigh Alward and Abby Riffle took their opponents to three sets before falling, while the team of Lizzy Clark and Jule Getzin were beaten in a tiebreaker.
The Port Angeles tennis team played at Kingston Tuesday after press deadline and hosts Bainbridge at 4 p.m. Wednesday as the Roughriders play matches on three straight days for rain makeups.
