BAINBRIDGE — The Sequim softball squad continued its hot streak with a commanding 11-4 road win over 3A Bainbridge on Monday.
Lainy Vig pitched the entire game and picked up the victory on the mound for the Wolves. Christy Grubb went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, while Mia Pozernick was 2-for-4 with a double, coach Mike McFarlen said.
“Other than that, we scattered singles all over the place,” McFarlen said.
The Wolves are now 6-1, having scored in double figures in all six of their wins. Their lone loss was 11-6 to undefeated Port Angeles.
McFarlen said Sequim is playing good defense and about the only criticism he has is “we’re leaving too many baserunners on base.”
Sequim (6-1) gets a long Easter break to April 14 when the Wolves play Bremerton on the road. McFarlen is looking forward to the rematch with Port Angeles on April 17.

Olympic 3, Port Angeles 2
BREMERTON — The Roughriders took a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the sixth inning, but Olympic rallied with a run in the sixth and a run in the seventh to pull out a walk-off 3-2 win over Port Angeles.
There were only nine total hits in the well-pitched game. A Riders’ trio of Ty Bradow, Seth Woods and Kamron Meadows gave up just five hits and three walks. Bradow and Woods each struck out four and gave up no earned runs. Meadows ended up taking the loss.
The Riders were only able to manage four hits and four walks themselves.
Jacob Felton had two of those hits, going 2-for-4 with a run and an RBI. He also had three stolen bases.
Dru Clark and John Vaara each had hits, while Adam Watkins walked twice. Vaara had an RBI while Clark scored a run.
It was the second one-run game against Olympic in a row. On Friday, the Riders beat the Trojans 2-1.
“It was a tight game the whole way. Every play, every pitch, every at-bat was significant,” said coach Casey Dietz.
Port Angeles (4-2) next plays at East Jefferson (0-4) at 4 p.m. Thursday.

BAINBRIDGE — A young Sequim squad got one-hit by 3A Bainbridge in a Monday loss.
Michael Grubb had the lone hit for the Wolves.
On the mound, Toppy Robideau had a good showing for the Wolves, going 2⅔ innings and giving up four hits and no earned runs.
Sequim hosted Bainbridge Tuesday and next plays at East Jefferson at 4:15 p.m. Monday.
