SEQUIM — Behind 23 points from Melissa Porter, the Sequim girls moved to the Olympic League semifinals by crushing 3A Bainbridge 66-17 in their playoff opener Saturday.
Sequim was up 48-8 at the half and cruised the rest of the way.
Porter had six rebounds to go with her points.
“Hannah Bates played phenomenal defense and had some beautiful passes on the fast break to Porter, giving her eight assists,” said coach Linsay Rapelje.
Jayla Julmist only played 10 minutes due to injury, but still tallied 12 points and five boards. Jelissa Julmist had 12 points and six rebounds.
Off the bench, Amanda Weller had eight rebounds and three steals, while Jolene Vaara had five blocked shots and three steals.
The Wolves (10-1) next play a good Kingston team (10-3) in the semifinals at 7 p.m. today. If they win, they will play in the Olympic League finals Wednesday, which possibly will be a rematch against Port Angeles.

Neah Bay 66, Lummi 23
NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay girls finished their season with a perfect 10-0 record and the Red Devils’ Laila Greene also scored her 1,000th point in a 66-23 win over Lummi on Saturday.
Greene scored 18 points, making four 3-pointers, and finished her high school career with 1,002 points scored.
Courtney Swan scored 12 and Oceana Aguirre scored 11 to go along with nine rebounds.

NEAH BAY — The Neah Bay boys finished their season with an 8-3 record after losing 68-51 to rival Lummi on Saturday.
Jaxson Halttunen led the Red Devils with 17 points, while Julian Carried had 16 points and 12 rebounds. Malcom Lovik had and Makyah Chambers each had eight points.
