SEQUIM — The Wolves sealed their fourth consecutive Olympic League championship by winning a four-team 18-hole match at par-72 Cedars at Dungeness on Monday.
Sequim (8-0) has won 39 consecutive Olympic League matches during its title run and is 55-4 overall in regular season play since the 2014 season.
The Wolves’ four best scores totaled 317 strokes leaving North Mason (392), Port Townsend (411) and Chimacum (419) far behind.
Paul Jacobsen’s 2-over-par 74 edged Sequim teammate Blake Wiker and Chimacum’s Logan Storm (75) for match medalist honors by one stroke.
Sequim freshman Ben Sweet tallied the fourth-best total with an 82.
Liam Payne added the fourth score for the Wolves with a round of 86.
Port Townsend’s Jacob Madison shot 86 to lead the Redhawks. Sam Boatman (100), Zach Maynard (107) and Wilder Lewis (118) also scored for Port Townsend.
Chimacum’s Sean Storey (109), Brayden Yingling (113) and Cayden Sevilla (122) also carded rounds.
Sequim hosts North Kitsap on Tuesday.
Port Townsend (3-4) hosts Kingston (1-5) on Thursday.
Chimacum (3-3) visits North Kitsap (1-6) on Thursday.
Girls Golf Sequim girls win
SEQUIM — Playing conditions were great and the weather cooperated as the Wolves won an Olympic League match at The Cedars at Dungeness on Monday.
Sequim’s four best scores totaled 199 strokes while North Mason was second with 222.
Port Townsend’s lone girls golfer Mackenzie Lake, a two-time state competitor, earned match medalist honors with a 6-over-par 42 on the par-36 front nine.
Sequim’s Yana Hoesel was second with a round of 45, tying Hoesel’s career-low score for nine holes.
Maddie Uranga shot a 47 for the Wolves and teammates Brittney Gale (50) and JoNell Hill (57) and Delaney Nucci (57) also were in Sequim’s top four.
Sequim (6-2) had four girls compete that did not count for the league match and all of them posted career-low scores. Kaylee Dunlap had a 55, Abbe Jagger a 59, Kendra Munger a 63 and Julianna Tamblin shot 65.
The Wolves host North Kitsap on Tuesday.
Girls Tennis Port Angeles 5, Klahowya 2
PORT ANGELES — The Roughriders earned an Olympic League win over the Eagles to improve to 6-3 on the season.
The No. 3 doubles duo of Eden Critchfield and Ellie Getchell triumphed in a 10-8 super tiebreaker to help Port Angeles pick up the match win.
The Riders (6-3) visit North Kitsap (10-1) today.
