PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles won six of seven matches to claim an Olympic League girls tennis match at home against Klahowya on Tuesday.
The Roughriders’ three singles players, Summer Olsen, Hailey Horton and Emily Metzler, all earned straight-set victories over their Eagles’ counterparts.
Port Angeles’ No. 2 doubles duo of Saige Hefton and Cassandra Shamp won the longest match of the afternoon, defeating Kelish Harris and Hanna Catt 10-8 in a 10-point tiebreaker to decide the third set and the match winner.
Hefton and Shamp were selected as Players of the Match by Riders’ coach Stephanie Gochnour.
Kailey Droz and Lum Fu and Kyla Tagg and Hanna Brown also won doubles matches for Port Angeles, with each match decided in straight sets.
The Riders (2-2, 2-2) host Bremerton today at 4 p.m.

BREMERTON — Kalli Wiker claimed the No. 1 singles match in three sets as the Wolves (3-0) remained unbeaten with a triumph over the Knights in an Olympic League girls tennis match Wednesday.
Wiker took the first set 6-3 against Bremerton’s Jasmine Palaganas, dropped the second by the same score, but rallied for the match win with a 6-0 third set victory.
Sequim swept the doubles matches with the teams of Isabelle Hugoniot/Jessica Dietzman, Olivia Preston/Amanda He, Tea Gauthun/Emily Bundy and Arlene Law and Eden Johnson all posting straight-set victories.
The Wolves hosted North Mason after press deadline Wednesday. Sequim heads to Kingston today for a 4 p.m. match.

PORT LUDLOW — The Wolves played an unfamiliar course and came away with a victory in a match on the heavily-forested back nine at Port Ludlow Golf Course on Tuesday.
“The weather was perfect and the course conditions were ideal,” Wolves coach Garrett Smithson said. “This was our first trip away from home which showed a little in our scores. Not one of our girls had ever played the course.”
Sarah Shea earned medalist honors for Sequim with a bogey-golf score of 9-over par 45.
Samantha Smith added a round of 53, Yana Hoesel shot a 58 and Maddie Uranga posted a 62 for the Wolves (3-0).
Chimacum was led by Erin Crouch who shot a 65. Delana Horner was next for the Cowboys with a 66, while Lacey Bishop carded a 69 and Janae Murray a 72.
Sequim visited North Kitsap late Wednesday and will not play again until a post-spring break match at home against Olympic on Tuesday, April 10.
Chimacum (0-2) will host North Mason next Thursday.
Klahowya 211, Port Angeles 247
BREMERTON — The Riders were outshot by the Eagles in an Olympic League golf match on the Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club.
Gillian Elofson led Port Angeles with a fourth-place finish, shooting 55 on the par-35 front nine.
Kathryn McMahan shot a 62 for the Riders, while Aliyah Johnston and Melissa Olson added rounds of 65.
Kate Streck was medalist for Klahowya with a round of 48.
Port Angeles (1-1) visits league-leading Olympic today for a match at Rolling Hills Golf Course.
Boys Golf
Sequim 176, Chimacum 214
PORT LUDLOW — Paul Jacobsen’s 3-over-par 39 netted medalist honors and boosted the Wolves to a win over the Cowboys at Port Ludlow Golf Course.
“The course layout proved to be very challenging for all players as every stoke average went up,” Sequim coach Bill Shea said.
Blake Wiker was second for the Wolves with a 44 and Josiah Carter third with a 45.
Logan Storm led Chimacum with a fourth-place round of 46. Sean Storey and Nate Miller each shot 53 and Brayden Yingling posted a 62 for the Cowboys (1-1, 1-2).
Chimacum will host North Mason next Thursday.
Sequim (3-0) played North Kitsap late Wednesday and will be back in action after spring break in a Tuesday, April 10 match at home against Olympic.
Klahowya 177, Port Angeles 197
BREMERTON — Mathew Locke shot a 43 to finish third overall for the Riders in a loss to the Eagles in an Olympic League match at Gold Mountain Golf Club on Tuesday.
Cameron Fouts shot a 48 and Derek Sparks and Nate Drake posted rounds of 53 for Port Angeles.
Klahowya’s Landon Betzing was medalist with a 40.
The Riders (1-2) visit Olympic for a match today.

Sequim 7, North Mason 6
BELFAIR — Freshman Jayla Julmist went 3 for 4 with a home run and five RBI as the Wolves edged the Bulldogs to earn their first win of the season in an Olympic League 2A Division game Tuesday.
Bobbi Sparks, Ashley Cate and Kylynn Stringer all had two hits for Sequim (1-0, 1-4).
Isabelle Dennis picked up the win on the mound for the Wolves, while Shelby Jones earned the save.
Sequim hosts North Kitsap (2-0) on Friday.

North Mason 6, Sequim 1
BELFAIR — The Wolves’ base-running attack was slowed by the Bulldogs as Sequim tallied just one stolen base in an Olympic League 2A Division loss Tuesday.
Wolves’ starting pitcher Ian Miller was tagged for six runs, four earned, on six hits and two walks in four innings of work.
Miller was 2 for 3 at the plate and scored Sequim’s lone run on a sacrifice fly by Michael Grubb.
Michael Young added two hits and a stolen base and Johnnie Young was 1 for 3 with a double for the Wolves.
Brenden Kimball earned the win for North Mason, allowing one run on six hits with no walks and seven strikeouts in six innings pitched.
Sequim (0-2, 3-3) hosts North Kitsap (1-0, 2-0) on Friday.
