PORT ANGELES — Port Angeles and Sequim gymnasts competed against North Kitsap and Kingston on Saturday at the Klahhane Gymnastics Center, celebrating the team’s five seniors.
North Kitsap won with 150.75 points while Port Angeles/Sequim was a close second at 143.29. Kingston was third at 52.7.
On the floor, Susannah Sharp tied for first with a 9.4. She also added a pair of thirds — on the bars with a 6.8 and on the beam with an 8.1.
Sequim’s Lucy Spelker was second on the beam with an 8.75. Maddie Adams was fifth with a 7.4. On the bars, Spelker was also third on the floor exercise with a 9.2 and fourth on the bars with a 6.3.
Sequim’s Madi Ripley placed fifth on the floor exercise with an 8.0.
The girls on the team now split up into Sequim and Port Angeles teams as they move into subdistricts, which is scheduled for Feb. 8 in Olympia.

Crescent 50, Oakville 22
OAKVILLE — The Loggers put the clamps down defensively after halftime and cracked the Acorns in the second half of a nonleague contest Monday.
“We are a second-half team,” coach Brian Shimko said.
Naomii Sprague led the Loggers with 15 points.
“Naomii had a lot of steals,” Shimko said. “She’s fast and athletic, and when she figures out how to slow down a little bit on her lay-ins, she’ll probably go from scoring 15 to 30.”
Audrey Gale knocked down four 3s and had 13 points.
“They knew Ciara Cargo-Acosta is a 3-point shooter and were covering that, but a lot of teams don’t realize Audrey is accurate from 3 as well,” Shimko said.
Crescent (12-5) hosts No. 1-ranked Neah Bay (12-2) at 5:45 p.m. today.

Boys basketball
Forks postponed
FORKS — A Pacific 2B League boys basketball game between Forks and Chief Kitsap could not be played Monday night due to a major power outage on the West End of Clallam County. There is no word yet on when the game will be rescheduled. Forks plays at league-leading Ilwaco tonight for the Spartans’ final regular-season scheduled game.
Kennedy Catholic 81, East Jefferson 50
SEATTLE — East Jefferson lost 81-50 on Monday in a nonleague game against Kennedy Catholic.
East Jefferson (5-6, 6-8) has an exceptionally busy week with four games scheduled. They played Charles Wright Tuesday after press deadline, then play Annie Wright at 7 p.m. Thursday in Chimacum and Bellevue Christian at 7 p.m. Friday in Port Townsend.
