CHIMACUM — Laila Greene scored 18 points to go along with four steals and five rebounds as Neah Bay opened its girls basketball season with a 60-32 win over East Jefferson.
Greene was 4 of 8 on 3-point shots in the win.
Senior Courtney Swan added eight points and four steals for the Red Devils in her return from a torn ACL that kept her from playing her junior season.
Paris Horejsi scored eight points for Neah Bay while guard Allie Greene added six points and four rebounds and post Oceanna Aguirre chipped in with seven points.
Peninsula College-commit Gina Brown led East Jefferson (0-4) with 11 points.
The Red Devils visit Crescent (1-1) tonight.

SILVERDALE — The Riders won a close match behind the strength of their doubles duos and a gutty performance from Zane Glassock at No. 3 singles, according to coach Brian Gundersen.
“We have some younger guys getting varsity experience and I was really proud of their poise and execution today,” Gundersen said. “Our only path to victory was winning the last two matches of the day and the guys found a way to pull them out.”
Gundersen singled out Joe Hill and Kellen Garcelon as the players of the match. “Joe and Kellen are two sophomores getting their first taste of varsity action, and after losing the first set, they didn’t panic. They went back to the drawing board and found a way to win an important match.” PA hosts East Jefferson on Thursday.

BREMERTON — The Wolves won all four contested matches and earned a sweep over a shorthanded Trojans squad Wednesday.
Sequim also swept a match against North Mason earlier this week with Garret Little, Connor Bear and Kaden Jones earning straight-set singles wins, and Dustan Koch and Henry Hughes and Zach McCracken and Jack Van DeWege earning doubles victories.
